The historic town of Telluride is located in the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado, approximately 360 miles from Denver. Thanks to its legendary terrain, Telluride is considered one of the best ski and snowboard destinations in the world. It's 2000 acres is known for its steep, vertical drops, but also accommodates beginner and intermediate skiers and riders across half of the terrain. Because of it's remote location, Telluride Ski Resort is known for its lack of lift lines.
The town and it's famous ski resort showcase the area's dramatic scenery due to it's position in a valley surrounded by magnificent peaks. The town was founded in 1878 and has a rich history, first as a mining town, and then as one of the longest running ski resort towns in the United States. Telluride is designated a National Historic Landmark.
While the town of Telluride is small enough to explore on foot, it's big enough to have plenty of shops, restaurants, and nightlife options for visitors. The town boasts renowned après ski at it's world-class restaurants.
