Heavenly Mountain Resort straddles the California and Nevada border on the south end of Lake Tahoe. With over 4800 skiable acres, Heavenly has 28 lifts and 97 runs making it one of the largest ski resorts in the western United States. It is typically a 3 hour drive from San Francisco and an hour from Reno.
The resort has the highest elevation of the region at 10,067 feet, and is known for it's 360 inches of powder annually. Heavenly Resort's scenery is second to none, with skiers and snowboarders enjoying the iconic views of snowclad mountains framing the deep blue lake.
Heavenly has 4 different base areas from which to access the mountain. Heavenly North includes beginner-friendly Boulder Lodge and the local's choice Stagecoach Lodge - both off of Tramway Drive on the Nevada side at the top of Kingsbury Grade (Nevada Route 207). On the California side, Heavenly Village Gondola is the best for walking to and from the slopes and California Base Lodge has the best parking options.
The town of South Lake Tahoe features a wide variety of coffee shops, restaurants, craft breweries and (Nevada side) casinos. Off-piste activities include many miles of snowshoe trails in the nearby Tahoe National Forest, ice skating at the Heavenly village rink, and much more.
