Description

Road Bike Rentals in Healdsburg, Sonoma Wine Country

Healdsburg sits at the doorstep of some of the finest road cycling in California. The legendary back roads of Dry Creek Valley and the Russian River Valley wind past world-class wineries, sun-drenched vineyards, and landscapes that feel more like Tuscany than anywhere else in the country — and this road bike rental puts you on the right machine to experience all of it.

The fleet for this listing is dedicated to performance road cycling: Carbon Fiber road bikes available in four frame sizes (51 cm / 5'1"–5'5", 54 cm / 5'6"–5'8", 56 cm / 5'9"–5'11", and 58 cm / 6'–6'2"), plus aluminum Specialized Allez road bikes and Specialized Sirrus hybrids for those who want a performance ride in a slightly more relaxed geometry. Every bike is meticulously maintained and genuinely top-of-the-line — reviewers regularly note the quality of the fleet.

Staff are seasoned cyclists and locals who know every road in the valley. They'll match you to the right bike, dial in your fit, and hand you a custom map with recommended routes, ideal winery stops, and the best roads for your goals and ability. Ride With GPS is available for turn-by-turn navigation on your device. Whether you're logging serious miles or exploring at your own pace, you leave the shop ready to ride.

Note: This listing covers road bikes and performance hybrids only. For e-bikes, hybrid cruisers, kids bikes, and trailers, see the separate Healdsburg Bike and Electric Bike Rentals.

FAQs

What bike models are available in this listing?

This listing covers performance road bikes and hybrids only:

  • Carbon Fiber Road Bikes — available in four sizes: 51 cm (5'1"–5'5"), 54 cm (5'6"–5'8"), 56 cm (5'9"–5'11"), and 58 cm (6'–6'2")
  • Specialized Allez — aluminum road bike
  • Specialized Sirrus — flat-bar performance hybrid

When booking, select your date and choose the bike type and size that best matches your height.

What is the difference between the Carbon Fiber Road Bike, the Allez, and the Sirrus?

The Carbon Fiber Road Bikes are the flagship option — lighter, stiffer, and faster, with drop handlebars ideal for riders who want maximum performance on longer or more demanding routes. Four frame sizes are available to ensure a proper fit.

The Specialized Allez is an aluminum road bike — a great choice for riders who want a road bike feel at a slightly more accessible level.

The Specialized Sirrus is a flat-bar performance hybrid for riders who prefer an upright position with road-bike efficiency.

Can I select the specific bike I want?

You can indicate your preference when booking. Staff will do their best to accommodate based on availability and which bike fits you best.

Do you offer a proper bike fit?

Staff will adjust your bike before you head out — saddle height and basic positioning. If you need a more detailed fit, contact the shop in advance.

Do you have clip-less pedals available?

A limited supply of clip-less pedals is available. Contact the outfitter in advance if you need them. You can also remove the standard pedals and attach your own.

Where should I ride?

Staff can recommend routes for all experience levels. West Dry Creek Road is a perennial favorite for road cyclists — quiet, scenic, and rolling. Westside Road along the Russian River Valley is another highly regarded option. For longer days, staff can suggest routes up to 40+ miles (64+ km). Ride With GPS maps are available so you can navigate with confidence.

How far are the riding areas from the shop?

Routes start directly from the shop. Both Dry Creek Valley and Russian River Valley roads are immediately accessible — no need to transport the bike.

Can I rent a road bike for multiple days?

Multi-day rentals may be available — contact the shop to confirm availability and pricing.

Is parking available at the shop?

Yes — parking is available at the shop on Moore Lane.

What if I have a mechanical problem during my ride?

Contact the shop directly. For longer rides, carrying a spare tube, tire levers, and a CO2 inflator is always recommended.

How long has this company been operating in Wine Country?

Your hosts have been offering guided tours and bike rentals in Sonoma County and Napa Valley since 1991 — the longest continuously owned bike tour and rental operation in the region. All staff are locals with deep expertise in the area's roads, wines, and how to set riders up for an exceptional day on a bike.

What is the weather like in Healdsburg?

From early May through October or November, it typically does not rain. Mornings can be cool and foggy but warm up quickly. Summer highs range from the 70s–90s°F (21–32°C) with low humidity. Rentals are available rain or shine.

Do I need to book in advance?

Advance booking is strongly recommended, especially during peak season (May–October) and on weekends. Carbon road bikes in particular can book out quickly.

Are guided tours also available?

Yes — if you'd prefer a local guide to lead the way, guided bike and wine tasting tours are available. See the Healdsburg and Calistoga Sip 'n Cycle listings for details.
