Our Cherry Grove scenic tour is a perfect option for those looking for a trip with more kayaking. This tour will lead you through a maze of winding creeks with gentle currents. Our scenic tour oftentimes will bring you real close to many of the native coastal bird species. Your tour guide will guide you along and talk about the local flora and fauna and explain how our tidal flood lands benefit our ecosystems, as well as how all species work collaboratively to make this harmonious ecosystem thrive.

You may be able to spot blue herons, marsh hens, osprey, ducks, and many different species of fish and shellfish! Our kayak tour is specifically designed to be a family friendly, engaging, and fun memorable experience. Our kayak tour is also located in smooth, calm waters and is great for all experience levels!

FAQs

What if I’ve never kayaked before?

That is no problem; in fact, the majority of our tours are with first time kayakers. Our tour guides have years of experience kayaking and will be with you all the way. The tour guides will deliberately go out of the way to make sure you are comfortable and getting the hang of it. Kayaking is easy to learn, but we caution you... it is very addictive!

What if I fall out of my kayak?

Falling out of a kayak is very rare; however, there is always a risk for it to happen. Your guide is well trained for such instances and will assist you. All of our tours are done in calm waters. If you are a weak/inexperienced swimmer or have a fear of the water, we recommend you wear your flotation at all times while in the kayak.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages with me?

State Law prohibits the use of alcohol while operating any watercraft or vessel. In compliance with state law and the safety and comfort of all our guests, we do not allow alcohol to be consumed during our tours. Your tour guide can point you in the right direction after the tour of some great local places for you to enjoy a celebratory drink with your friends or family!

Do I have to wear my PFD?

We recommend wearing your PFD; however, we do not require you to wear it during your tour. All of our tours are done in smooth, calm waters, and it is rare for a paddler to fall out of the kayak during our tours. You should consider your physical abilities and your skill level for swimming when deciding whether or not you wear your PFD. **State law requires children under 12 years of age to wear their PFD (fully zipped/buckled) at all times while in the kayak.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

General Rules

Cancellation policy applies to each person in the reservation.
Any fees or penalties will be charged to the card on file.
All cancellations include a minimum 5% processing fee.
If we are able to refill your cancelled spots, you will receive a full refund minus the 5% processing fee.

Standard Trip Cancellations

More than 96 hours before your tour (4+ days)

Cancel more than 96 hours before your tour for a full refund minus a 5% processing fee.

Less than 96 hours before your tour

Cancellations made within 96 hours of the tour start time are charged 50% of the total booking cost.

Same-day cancellations & No-Shows

Same-day cancellations or not showing up for your tour are charged 100% of the booking cost.

Special and Discount Tour Cancellations

Private or customized tours are non-refundable after booking.
Any discounted tours will be charged a minimum 50% of the total booking cost after booking.
Any discounted tours will be charged 100% of the total booking cost if received less than 96 hours of activity start time.

Rescheduling Fees

More than 96 hours before your tour: Reschedule with no fee.
Less than 96 hours before your tour: $25 rescheduling fee.

Why Our Policy Is Firm

Your reservation blocks time and space that prevents us from booking other guests. Because of this, our cancellation policy is firm.

Inclement Weather

All weather cancellations or reschedules are at the discretion of J & L Kayaking.
If we cancel due to unsafe weather, you will receive a full refund.
If weather prevents your tour from launching:
Rescheduling fees are waived.
We will do our best to move you to another day.
If you cannot reschedule, you will receive a full refund.
