At TripOutside, our mission is to help people spend more time outdoors. Engaging in online content that is fighting for your attention to keep you online longer directly contradicts that objective. This is also why you won’t see ads on our platform, why we’re not on social media, and why we don’t run ads that follow you around and target you online.

Here are a few other reasons that we’re choosing not to be on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, or Snapchat.

  1. We prioritize our collective mental well-being by not being on social media, recognizing the negative impact it can have on mental health. The serious effects of social media on mental health are being ignored by these platforms and we’re going to stay off until these platforms can provide a safer environment for their users.
  2. Our goal is to encourage a deeper connection with nature and with others. By avoiding social media, we want to promote being present and fully engaged in the outdoor experiences that we share. We seek to remove barriers that stand between ourselves and what’s around us, including our fellow adventurers and the natural world. In today’s highly connected world, we can all benefit from taking moments to unplug and be fully present.
  3. Geotagging on social platforms has led to us unintentionally loving some outdoor places to death. We want to prevent unprepared visitation, preserve the natural beauty of outdoor spots, and ensure safety for all.
  4. Social media’s potential for virality based on its algorithms often highlights harmful actions toward wildlife and the environment. We choose not to participate to avoid contributing to the promotion of such destructive behaviors.

We will continue to create blog posts, podcasts, and YouTube (although it is now sort of social media) content that hopefully helps you get outdoors. We’ve launched a community that will allow us to engage through this content, to ask questions, share your adventures with each other.

TripOutside promises to find new ways to connect, and build better channels of communication elsewhere. You can contact us or call or text us at 970-387-7766, and most importantly, we look forward to personally getting out on an adventure with you!

Why Trust Us?

We fully understand how tough it is to find trustworthy travel advice, and that’s one of the main reasons we built TripOutside. We live for outdoor adventure, and we take these blogs and content very seriously. Here are some of the reasons you can trust us:

  • We only work with the highest-rated outfitters in the industry.

  • We’ve traveled to hundreds of destinations that you see on TripOutside in our RV over 6 years and want to share the places that we love with you.

  • We don’t distract you with any ads and never sell your personal information, ever.

  • We are a small, self-funded team and only grow with your support. You can support us by booking your next outdoor adventure on TripOutside.

  • We want to help you get outside. Please share your feedback with us on how we can help make TripOutside work for you!
