Zion Eastern Trailhead Shuttle - Top-Down Narrows & More
Pricing
Description
Zion Eastbound Backcountry Hiking Shuttle – Top-Down Narrows, Mystery Canyon, East Mesa & More
Some of Zion's most spectacular adventures start at trailheads that aren't reachable by the park's free shuttle — remote starting points on unpaved roads that require either your own vehicle or a reliable ride. If you're planning a top-down Narrows hike from Chamberlain's Ranch, descending Mystery Canyon, or accessing any of the eastern backcountry trailheads, this shuttle handles the logistics so you can focus on the adventure.
Daily departures serve Chamberlain's Ranch (the primary put-in for the top-down Narrows hike), East Mesa (for Mystery Canyon), Englestead Hollow, Birch Hollow, Stave Spring, and Orderville Canyon — all organized around the Chamberlain's Ranch shuttle corridor. Several of these destinations require driving the final 13 miles on primitive dirt roads that become impassable when wet, making a knowledgeable local driver and a reliable vehicle an essential part of the plan, not just a convenience.

FAQs
Do I need a permit to use this shuttle?
The shuttle itself doesn't require a permit, but the destinations do. The Top-Down Narrows hike requires a backcountry wilderness permit, Orderville Canyon requires its own permit, and technical canyons like Mystery Canyon require a wilderness permit. All permits must be secured independently through Recreation.gov or in person at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center Wilderness Desk before your trip. Bring your permit, NPS park pass, and a state-issued ID on the day of the shuttle.
What happens if the dirt roads are too wet to drive?
The final 13 miles to Chamberlain's Ranch and several other eastern trailheads are on primitive roads that become impassable when wet. If conditions prevent access, the outfitter will communicate with passengers and issue a full refund if the shuttle cannot operate. Always call ahead to check conditions, especially after rain.
How do I get back from the trailhead?
For the Top-Down Narrows hike, the route ends at the Temple of Sinawava, where the free Zion National Park shuttle returns hikers to the Visitor Center. Orderville Canyon routes also exit at the Temple of Sinawava shuttle stop. Return logistics for other destinations vary — plan your return before booking.
What if I'm late and miss the shuttle?
Shuttles leave on time out of respect for all passengers. If you miss your shuttle, no refund is issued. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure.
Cancellation Policy
Full payment is due at the time of booking. Cancellations more than 3 days in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours of the shuttle departure time are non-refundable. Weather conditions do not permit clients to cancel shuttles. If Zion Adventures® determines conditions make the event unsafe, and rescheduling is not possible, all purchases will be refunded in full.
If you need to cancel within the non-refundable window, please still let us know you won't be coming via calling during business hours (435-772-1001) or by emailing info@zionadventures.com so our shuttle drivers can plan accordingly.
