Description
Two-Night Camping & Hiking Gear Rental for Zion National Park
Two days in the Zion backcountry opens up a completely different side of the park. The overnight trails—the West Rim, Hop Valley, the top-down Narrows, the East Mesa approach to Observation Point—take you into terrain that day hikers never reach: remote canyon overlooks, hidden springs, stands of ponderosa pine, and the kind of silence that's hard to find in a national park this popular. A 2-day gear rental gives you everything you need to make one of those trips happen, even if you didn't fly in with a full pack.

FAQs
Do I need a permit to camp in Zion National Park?
Yes—overnight camping in the Zion Wilderness requires a backcountry permit, obtained through Recreation.gov or the Zion Canyon Visitor Center Wilderness Desk. Frontcountry campgrounds (Watchman and South) can be reserved directly through Recreation.gov. Staff can point you in the right direction at pickup.
What sleeping bag should I choose?
It depends on the time of year and where you're camping. The summer bag is rated for comfort above 45°F (7°C), suitable for warmer months in lower-elevation areas. The winter bag is rated for comfort above 30°F (-1°F), better suited for cooler months, higher elevations, or anyone who tends to sleep cold. Heavyweight liners can be added to either bag for extra warmth. If in doubt, staff will help you choose based on the forecast.
When do I need microspikes or snowshoes?
Zion's higher-elevation trails—including Angels Landing, the West Rim, and East Mesa—can accumulate significant snow and ice in winter and early spring. Microspikes provide traction on icy, compacted surfaces and are essential for safe travel on snow-packed trails. Snowshoes are suited for deeper, unbroken snow. Staff can advise on current trail conditions at pickup.
