Semi-Guided Yosemite Valley Triathlon Adventure | Hike, Bike & Swim
Experience Yosemite Valley like never before on this action-packed, multi-sport adventure! The Yosemite Valley Triathlon Adventure combines mountain biking, swimming, and cross-country hiking to create a full-day exploration of the park’s most iconic sights.
Your adventure begins with an easy, self-guided 8-mile bike ride through Yosemite Valley’s famous landmarks. Mountain bikes, maps, and a fun photo scavenger list are provided to make the ride interactive and engaging for all skill levels. Your biking journey concludes at a scenic swimming hole on the Merced River, where you'll meet your guide for the next portion of your adventure, and can cool off before a long, relaxing lunch break.
After lunch, the adventure continues with a 2-mile guided round-trip cross-country hike at the base of El Capitan. This route includes short rock scrambles along the historic abandoned Stage Coach Road, giving you a hands-on taste of Yosemite’s rugged backcountry.
This semi-guided adventure is designed for kids 8 and older but is equally fun for adults, families, and groups of all fitness levels. Private customization options are available to tailor the pace and activities to your group.

Which parts of the Yosemite Valley Triathlon Adventure are guided?
This is a semi-guided adventure designed to let you explore at your own pace while still benefiting from expert guidance.
- Mountain Biking: Self-guided along an 8-mile loop through Yosemite Valley. You’ll receive mountain bikes, a detailed map, and a fun photo scavenger list to enhance your ride. Your guide will meet you at the finish.
- Swimming: Fully guided at a scenic Merced River swimming hole. Your guide ensures a safe and fun experience.
- Hiking & Rock Scrambles: Fully guided 2-mile cross-country hike at the base of El Capitan, including short scrambles along the abandoned Stage Coach Road.
Your guide is present throughout the adventure to provide safety, tips, and Yosemite insights, while giving you the freedom to enjoy the biking portion at your own pace.
How difficult is this adventure?
The adventure is designed to be family-friendly and suitable for beginners. It includes 8 miles of easy bike riding and a 2-mile moderate cross-country hike with some short rock scrambles. Participants should be comfortable with light physical activity and hiking on uneven terrain.
Is previous experience required?
No hiking experience is necessary. You should be comfortable riding a bike. The biking portion is self-guided and easy, with a map and scavenger hunt to guide you. The hiking portion is moderate and guided, including short rock scrambles.
Cancellation Policy

Easy Cancelations Rate
- When available, our easy cancelations rate allows you to cancel your adventure or package up to 24 hours in advance for just a $25.00 processing fee.
- Cancelations within 24 hours will be refunded 50% of the listed price.
Non-Refundable Rate:
- Cancelations made at least 48 hours before scheduled adventure will be refunded 50% of the excursion price.
- Guests cancelling within 48 hours of scheduled adventure and no shows will not be refunded.
Adventure Add-Ons:
- Full refund on any cancellations 24 hours in advance of excursion start time.
- Cancellations within 24 hours will be handled on a case by case basis.
Gear & Bike Rentals
- Full refund on any cancellations 24 hours in advance of excursion start time.
- Cancelations within 24 hours will be refunded 50% of the listed price.
Exceptions:
- You will not be charged a cancellation fee if your trip is cancelled by Echo Adventure Cooperative due to weather, fire, road closures, or guide unavailability.
- You may reschedule your adventure or convert your balance into a gift card free of charge if done within 72 hours of your adventure start time.
- Your Adventure Coordinator will always work with Member-Guides as well as lodging & recreation partners to provide the largest possible refund based on your circumstances; however, we are rarely able to secure a larger refund than is stated above.
- Yelling, disrespecting or threatening your Adventure Coordinator will not result in a larger refund, so we HIGHLY recommend purchasing the easy cancelations rate, buying traveler's insurance, or using a credit card with travel protection to help take the pressure off.
- Review extortion (defined as threatening a negative review or promising a positive review in exchange for refunds or freebies) will not be tolerated and will void all refund eligibility.
