Whistler Sports - Gateway Bikes Rentals

Full-service bike shop offering rentals of downhill bikes, enduro bikes, trail bikes, hardtail bikes, recreational and kids bikes, e-bikes and trailers. Locally owned and operated since 2016!

Our bikes are regularly serviced and checked after each use. DH and trail bikes get a full safety check and tune after each rental. Our mechanics are fully trained to provide you with safe, reliable and tuned bikes for every ride.

Rental Timing

Our bike rentals run from 9.30am to 5.30pm. To return after 5.30pm we have a twilight add-on for $25. Full face helmets are included in the price. Body armour and damage insurance are optional and can be added from an additional price.

Types of Bike Rentals

Performance Downhill Bikes

Whistler Sports has custom built our downhill rental fleet, with a World Cup Spec, including the Rockshox Boxxer Ultimate or World Cup Forks, Maxxis Maxx Gripp tires, Sram Guide RE Brakes, and Sram 7 speed DH specific drivetrain.

We can adjust suspension to match rider weight. We maintain high-quality tires and pedals to give you maximum grip.

The custom built Commencal FRS were built fresh this year by our expert mechanics, they are built to perform.

Commencal FRS bikes are designed and built for for the likes of Whistler Bike Park, our high-performance downhill bike rentals are perfect for advanced and intermediate riders looking to rip it up in the Whistler Bike Park!

Standard Downhill Bikes

For the price conscious bike park rider we offer Standard Downhill Bike Rentals. Perfect for the Whistler Bike Park. Our Standard Downhill Bikes have 20cm of travel, which provides plenty of suspension for any terrain in the Whistler Bike Park. Our Norco Aurums all have quad piston brakes, providing lots of stopping power to help keep you safe. The Norco Aurum A7’s have a 27.5″ wheel set, are fun, easy to maneuver, and great for all levels of trail.

Enduro/Trail Bikes

Whistler Sports Rentals is carrying a fleet of Marin Alpine Trail Carbon 2 bikes.

Our Enduro Bike rentals are perfect for hitting the trails in Whistler. Whether you are looking to explore the cross country trails around lost lake, or more advanced single track trails, they are a great option.

Our Enduro's come with long travel front suspension 160mm Fox 38 Performance Elite for the 29" wheels.

Rear suspension is a Fox Float X, Performance, EVOL Air Spring, 3 Position Compression Adjustment, Rebound Adjustment.

The remotely adjustable dropper seat post, and 1 x 12 Shimano XT drive train make them great for trails around Lost Lake. However the long travel suspension and powerful brakes, make them capable on even the most advanced single track.

Please note: Not recommended for use in Whistler Bike Park. Customers wanting to ride the bike park should book one of our Downhill bike options. Rental includes a trail bike helmet. Full face helmets are an additional $25.

Recreational Mountain Bike

Looking to explore Whistler’s famous Valley Trail? Our Recreational Mountain Bike is perfect for the job!

Our Recreational Mountain Bikes come equipped with hydraulic disc brakes for reliable braking, and 27.5″ or 29" wheels to keep you rolling efficiently. Front suspension and nobby tires help absorb any bumps and grip on loose surfaces.

Whether cruising along the lakeside or exploring Whistler’s old growth forest, our Valley bikes allow you to ride in comfort and safety.

Comfort Cruiser Bike

For more leisurely riders, Whistler Sports offers comfort cruiser bikes for rental. With a wide padded saddle, and upright seated position, our cruiser bikes let you ride in style and comfort.

Comfort Cruiser bikes are great for riding the paved trails around Whistler.

E-Bikes

Whistler Sports Rentals offers Electric Bike (E-Bike) rentals at our Gateway Bikes store. We offer recreational e-bikes for accessing the Valley Trail in Whistler. Our pedal assist e-bikes have front suspension for absorbing bumps and gravel, but are not intended for mountain bike trails.

If you wish to hire Dual Suspension e-bikes to ride mountain bike trials we recommend Spicy Sports.

Our bikes have great mileage on the battery and are perfect for seeing all of Whistler's lakes and beautiful scenery.

*** Please note riders must be 16 or over for e-bikes. Chariots and Trail-a-bikes cannot be attached to e-bikes, regular recreational and comfort bikes must be used for any trailers***

Kids Downhill Bike

With newly built green trails, beginner areas, and skills centres, more kids than ever are enjoying the Whistler Bike Park. This summer Whistler Sports carries kids downhill bikes for rental.

Our kids DH bikes come with 24" or 20" wheels, making it easier for kids to control and manoeuvre. Front and rear suspension absorbs all of the bumps, jumps, rocks and roots you will find in the bike park. Hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable braking to keep your kids safe!

Age guide is approximate and will very depending on the riders dimensions:

24" wheels: 8 - 11 years

20" wheels: 5 - 8 years

Kids DH bike includes trail or full-face helmet.

Kids Standard Bike

We love to see happy families enjoying a bike ride around Whistler, and have several kids options to help make that possible. Our standard kids bike rentals come in 4 different sizes, but one simple price. We also offer kids downhill rentals, for more info visit Kids Downhill Bike Rental. Kids Trail-a-Bike

Whistler is a great place for families to explore by bike. If you have kids, a trail-a-bike will allow you to go further and explore more. Allow your kids to experience the ride without the hard work!

With pedals, saddle and handle bars, it's a great way for kids to experience biking, but with an adult in control. Allow kids to enjoys the views and fresh air while gown-ups enjoy the exercise.

Bike Trailer

Take your kids on the ride of a life time. Rent a bike trailer and explore Whistler's Valley Trail, the beach at Lost Lake or any of the wonderful playgrounds around Whistler.

We have double trailers to rent, which are suitable for either 1 or 2 child passengers. Out trailers have padded seats and 5-point harnesses to keep your kids safe and comfy!

All weather 600D Polyester top keep passengers dry, but allows them to see the beautiful views as well.
