This trip offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, whether you’re chasing the adrenaline of spring rapids or enjoying swimming holes and splashy waves in the summer sun. Guided by expert, safety-first river guides, you’ll be fully outfitted with wetsuits, helmets, and all the gear you need for a fun and safe trip. The Wenatchee is forgiving enough for new paddlers while still delivering plenty of excitement, making it ideal for families, friends, and groups.

What kind of rapids are on the Wenatchee River?

The Wenatchee River features mostly Class III rapids—fun, splashy, and exciting without being too intimidating. In spring (May–June), the river runs higher and faster with big waves, while in summer (July–August), the rapids are more mellow and family-friendly.

What is the best time to go rafting on the Wenatchee River?

It depends on what you’re looking for. May and June offer the biggest whitewater and most thrilling rides. July and August bring warm weather, calmer water, and great conditions for families, swimming, and relaxing river time.

Is the Wenatchee River suitable for kids?

Yes—during summer flows (July and August), kids as young as 6 can join. During high water season (May and June), the minimum age is 12 due to the stronger rapids. All participants must be able to follow guide instructions and be comfortable in the water.

Will there be swimming opportunities?

Yes! During summer trips, there are often calm sections perfect for swimming and floating. Your guide will let you know when it’s safe to hop in and cool off.

What happens if the river is too high or low?

We adjust the put-in and take-out locations as needed to match river conditions, maintaining a safe and fun experience. If conditions ever become unsafe, we’ll offer to reschedule your trip or move it to a different river.
