Would you like to be part of whale shark monitoring research trips? Learn about the biology of the whale sharks, and the way that Whale Shark Mexico studies them, and be part of a research field trip in La Paz Bay with the Whale Shark Mexico team!

In order to support the monitoring, we do research trips involving tourists and volunteers, where we educate and raise awareness of people about the whale sharks, the ocean conservation and the importance of research. 100% of the cost of this adventure goes toward conservation and protection of the whale sharks.

Whale Shark Monitoring Details

You will spend 2-3 hours at sea swimming and snorkeling with the Whale Shark Mexico team in the La Paz whale shark refuge. Activities may include assisting with whale shark tagging/sampling, helping with ecological surveys, conducting whale sharks behavioral monitoring, contributing to database management and data analysis, and so much more.

We take small groups and our boat is maximum 6 people on board.

Participants must know how to swim and snorkeling experience is preferred.

Timing

Trips depend on weather conditions and runs from October to April.
