Description
Electric Bike Tour of Turquoise Lake's Alpine Scenery – Leadville, CO
Roll out from downtown Leadville on an e-bike and head for Turquoise Lake, riding a mix of paved path and smooth gravel through pine forest and open meadow at 10,000 feet. The route circles along the water with Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive rising above the far shore, passing campgrounds, picnic areas, and a handful of Leadville's 19th-century mining relics along the way.
With the e-bike's pedal assist smoothing out the climbs on mostly flat terrain, this is a ride built around the scenery — sparkling alpine water, big mountain views, and stretches of forest that shift with the season, from summer wildflowers to fall aspens in full color.

FAQs
Do I need previous e-biking experience to join a tour?
No experience is needed — our guided rides are beginner friendly, and your guide will make sure you're comfortable with the bike before you head out. You'll just need to be comfortable riding a regular bike.
What will we see on this ride?
This route circles Turquoise Lake with views of Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive, passing pine forest, meadows, campgrounds, and a handful of Leadville's 19th-century mining relics.
How far do we ride?
This is roughly a 12–15 mile loop around Turquoise Lake, back to the starting point.
What is the terrain like?
The route is mostly flat, mixing paved path with smooth gravel, and the e-bike's assist handles any climbing — it's an easygoing ride overall.
Can I bring my camera?
We recommend bringing a small backpack for anything you want to carry along, like a camera or personal items.
Should I prepare for altitude before this tour?
Yes — Leadville sits at 10,152 ft, so the air is noticeably thinner and drier than most guests are used to. Drink water often, even before you feel thirsty, and don't be surprised if you feel a bit more winded than usual. Headaches, dizziness, or feeling out of breath after minimal effort are common at this elevation — if you start feeling off, just let your guide know and we'll happily slow down or take a break. There's no prize for pushing through it.
Will we see any wildlife?
It's possible! Leadville is home to plenty of local wildlife, including the occasional moose. If you spot one, please admire it from a distance — moose can be unpredictable up close. We ask that you not feed or approach any wildlife along the ride.
What happens if a thunderstorm rolls in during the tour?
Afternoon thunderstorms are common in the Colorado high country, especially in summer. If lightning is in the area, we'll pause the tour and move away from exposed or high points until it passes. Your safety always comes first — we'd rather wait it out than rush through weather.
