Where to Kayak

All trips start and end at the Indian Channel Boat Launch, The Grand River and its bayous are great for all experience levels. Generally speaking, the water is calm and offers an easy and relaxing paddle. The biggest factor affecting how challenging it will be to paddle is the wind. We highly recommend checking the weather before you book. You will park your car at the launch for the duration of your rental – no shuttling required! From this point, you will have access to the majestic, winding Grand River and the many bayous along it. We have several suggested bayou trips so you can select one to fit the length of trip you desire. Or feel free to create your own route and journey anywhere you please. Maps will be provided for you.

About Us

We are a kayak rental company located on the Grand River in Spring Lake, Michigan. We use the Indian Channel Boat Launch for all of our kayak trips – located at 14600 144th Ave, Spring Lake, MI. Just a short drive from Grand Haven, Muskegon, Holland, and the Grand Rapids area. All trips require a reservation. We offer several expertly curated routes along with the option to create your own. We will provide you with all of the essentials to get out on the river and explore!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING YOUR TRIP

Each Paddler will be provided with a kayak, paddle, Personal Flotation Device (PFD), and map of the river
All trips start and stop at the Indian Channel Boat Launch in Spring Lake. We will meet you there with the kayaks at your scheduled trip time. This is where you will park your car during your trip – no shuttling required.
The Indian Channel Boat Launch requires a Michigan Recreation Passport for parking. If you are from out of state and need a passport you can purchase an annual pass here or a daily pass at any Michigan State Park. There is free parking available off site.
Each Paddler is required to wear a PFD at all times while on the water
The difficulty of kayaking on the Grand River is easy to moderate. This mostly depends on how windy it is that day. On a very windy day the water will be choppy and more difficult to paddle through. We recommend checking the weather before booking your trip.
On the weekends (especially Saturday) there is more boat traffic. Please stick to the edges of the river to avoid other watercraft. If you would prefer to paddle on a day with less boat traffic we recommend booking on a weekday.
Anyone using a single kayak must be 10 years of age.
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Each paddler will be required to sign a liability release waiver before beginning the rental. An adult will be required to sign off for minors.
If you return from your trip late, you may be charged for additional rental time.

Cancellation Policy

Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.
