Surf with "Stingray" – A Private One-on-One Surf Lesson in Malibu
Every session is completely private and tailored to you, your pace, and your goals. Whether you're stepping onto a surfboard for the first time or surfing purely for the joy of it, Stingray will meet you exactly where you are and get you further than you thought possible in a single session. Video analysis is included — your session is filmed and reviewed together so you can see your progress firsthand.
Lessons take place primarily at Broad Beach, a semi-private beach at the northern end of Zuma in Malibu that's uncrowded, beautiful, and consistently great for all skill levels. Depending on conditions, sessions may relocate to County Line, Point Dume, Staircase, Leo Carrillo, or other Malibu breaks — Stingray reads the conditions each morning and selects the best spot for your session. All equipment is provided, including soft-top Stormblade surfboards and wetsuits.
No experience needed. No swimming ability required. Just show up ready to surf.

Who is Stingray?
Chris "Stingray" Stiegler is the founder and lead coach at Malibu Surf Coach, with over 25 years of teaching and coaching experience across Hawaii, Australia, the Canary Islands, and Malibu. The Surf with Stingray session guarantees you're working one-on-one with Chris himself.
Do I need prior surfing experience?
No. First-time surfers are a specialty here. Stingray's refined teaching method gets complete beginners standing and riding waves in a single session, regardless of fitness level or swimming ability.
How should I prepare?
Wear a swimsuit you can move in, apply reef-safe sunscreen before arriving, stay hydrated, and eat a light meal at least an hour before your session. Arrive a few minutes early to park and get comfortable with the equipment.

Customers will receive a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation of their appointment time.
