Haleiwa is famous on Oahu for its sunsets — and Rainbow Watersports Adventure puts you right in the middle of one. The Sunset Stand Up Paddleboarding Session takes you out on the calm, glassy waters of the Anahulu Stream and Haleiwa Bay as the sun drops toward the horizon, casting gold and pink light across the North Shore’s lush tropical landscape. It’s one of the most scenic paddles on the island, and the timing couldn’t be better.
Dusk is also the hour when sea turtles return home to the Anahulu Stream for the night, making sightings remarkably common on this session. Tropical fish, the occasional dolphin, and the stunning backdrop of the North Shore mountains round out the experience. Your instructor is lifeguard certified and keeps the session safe, fun, and full of great photo moments — water photography is included so you’ll have shots to share.

Haleiwa Beach Park / Anahulu Stream, 62-540 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712. Look for the Rainbow Van. Park anywhere along the beach. From Waikiki, allow 45–60 minutes drive time.
Ages
Participants must be at least 7 years old to paddle solo. Children ages 4–6 are welcome and will ride with an instructor. All skill levels welcome.

FAQs
Do I need paddleboarding experience?
None at all. The calm, flat waters of the Anahulu Stream are ideal for first-timers. Your lifeguard certified instructor will have you up and paddling on your first session.
Will we see sea turtles?
Dusk is the best time for turtle sightings on this stretch of water — they return home to the Anahulu Stream for the night as the sun sets. Sightings are common but never guaranteed, as this is nature.
Are photos included?
Yes. Water photography is included and delivered on an SD card after your session so you can keep and share the memories.
Is there an age or weight limit?
Participants must be at least 7 years old to paddle solo; children ages 4–6 are welcome and ride with an instructor. Boards are stable up to 250 lbs.
Do I need reef-safe sunscreen?
Yes, and it’s required. Please use sunscreen that does not contain Oxybenzone or Octinoxate — these chemicals damage coral reefs. Reef-safe options are widely available on Oahu.
