5-Day Summer Surf Camp — Folly Beach, SC
Spend a week chasing waves on one of South Carolina's most beloved surf beaches. This 5-day summer surf camp is built for young beginners who want to fall in love with the ocean, gain real surfing skills, and build confidence in the water alongside a supportive team of instructors.
Each weekday session runs from the beach into the water, blending hands-on surf coaching with lessons in ocean safety, etiquette, and reading wind, weather, and water conditions. New skills are introduced every day, so surfers leave the week with the tools to keep paddling out on their own. A daily shuttle connects Mt. Pleasant to Folly Beach, making it easy to drop off and pick up campers without navigating beach parking.

- Shuttle departs Mt. Pleasant at 8:00 AM and returns at 1:30 PM
- Optional daily shuttle pickup/drop-off at The Red Drum in Mt. Pleasant (extra fee applies)

Are the instructors certified?
Yes. All instructors are certified lifeguards with CPR and first aid training, and the program is licensed and insured.
Do participants need to know how to swim?
Yes — all participants must be able to swim and be comfortable in the water to take part.
Who will my child be learning from?
Camp is led by a Charleston-area native with over 35 years of surfing experience, a BS in Education from the College of Charleston, and a background teaching science, along with certifications as a personal trainer and yoga instructor.
Is it possible to learn to surf after one week of camp?
Surfing takes time to develop, and progress depends on age, health, and prior comfort in the ocean. During the week, your guides aim to give surfers the tools to keep paddling out on their own, and additional weeks are encouraged for continued progress.
What happens if it rains during camp week?
Rain alone won't cancel a session — thunderstorms will. If rain or storms are in the forecast, your guides will try to notify you by email the evening before, sometimes followed by a morning-of update. One day per week can be cancelled for weather or other unforeseen circumstances at no additional cost; if two or more days are cancelled, the rest of the week is prorated.
Are sessions co-ed?
Yes, all 2026 sessions are co-ed.
Do I need to book a specific week in advance?
Yes — camp runs in weekly sessions throughout the summer (June through early August), and each week is booked separately.
Is the shuttle required?
The shuttle is optional for an added fee. Families near Folly Beach are welcome to drop campers off directly at the beach location.
Cancellation Policy
Customers will receive a full refund with 1 week notice of cancellation. Contact us by email to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.
We allow one day of the session week to possibly be cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. This rarely happens. If more than one day is cancelled, we will pro-rate the remainder of the week.
