Bioluminescent Bay Stand Up Paddleboard Tour

Our island's most special attraction is the nighttime bioluminescence tour. There is not a more unique way to experience the living natural phenomenon than standing atop a paddleboard, watching the surreal lightshow as you agitate billions of bioluminescent microorganisms lighting all around you. The wake of your boards and the stroke of your paddle will cause them to light up, as well as beneath your feet if riding the transparent SUP.

We offer the only SUP tour of the bio bay, and the only completely see-through SUPs to view the billions of tiny lights (bioluminescence) in the bay. The bioluminescent bay is truly an incredible natural phenomenon, and to experience it from atop a paddleboard is an experience like no other.

Experience Required

For this night time SUP tour, previous paddleboard experience and proficiency will be required. You will be expected to properly handle your own board with little to no assistance, transition into different paddling positions as necessary, and be able to re-mount your board in deep water if necessary. Our pace will be steady and all SUPers will be expected to stay with the group.

Types of Paddleboards

Traditional Rigid and Soft-Top SUPs

• Options ranging from 9’6” to 11’4”
• Weight limits up to 400 pounds
• Ideal for less experienced or larger paddlers, superior stability, more forgiving during falls, easiest to remount

Sea Thru Transparent SUP

• Unlimited visibility beneath your board
• Weight limit 225 pounds
• Ideal for competent and confident paddlers only

What to Bring

We recommend you travel light. There are very few bungees on the traditional boards, and no cargo straps on the sea thru boards to carry your belongings. It is a two hour tour, leave your things safely on land and enjoy the tour.

We have personal lockers available for use at our facility. The following are suggested for before/after the trip.

• Only DEET-FREE bug repellants allowed (will be available for use)
• Water and snacks for fueling up before and after
• Medications, if necessary

Included in this Tour

We will provide you the appropriate SUP, life jacket, paddle, and a knowledgeable guide to escort you through the bioluminescent bay. DEET-FREE bug repellants and personal lockers available.

Not Included

• A dry bag for any personal belongings or electronic equipment you choose to bring, available for purchase on site.
• Tip or gratuity for your hard working guide/s
