Snow Shoe Rental – Glenwood Springs, CO
Trade the crowds at the ski hill for the quiet of the Roaring Fork Valley in winter. The downtown Glenwood Springs shop rents durable, easy-to-use snowshoes for a day on the trails, with your team on hand to point you toward good places to go.
Snowshoes come in all lengths, including kids' sizes, so the whole family can head out together. Each rental includes poles, and the team is happy to share tips on nearby spots worth exploring.
Duration
- Full-day and multi-day rentals are available, for up to 10 days — booked and charged by the day, with flexibility to adjust if your plans change.
- Pick up your rental during shop hours, or stop in between 2–6 PM the day before to get it ready ahead of time.
- A 1-day rental is not a 24-hour rental: equipment must be returned by 6 PM the same day, or an overnight fee applies.
- Winter season runs Dec. 1 – Mar. 31, with the shop open 8 AM–6 PM, seven days a week, including holidays.

What to Bring / Wear
- Waterproof, insulated winter boots with good ankle support
- Warm, moisture-wicking layers, plus an outer layer that blocks wind and snow

- Gloves or mittens and a warm hat
- Sunglasses or sunscreen for bright, snow-reflected sun
- Water and snacks for the trail

Do I need snowshoeing experience to go out on my own?
Not really — snowshoeing is close to walking, just with a wider stance and a bit more effort in fresh powder, which makes it an easy self-guided option even for first-timers.
What's the terrain and scenery like?
Expect quiet, snow-covered trails through forest and open meadow terrain around the Roaring Fork Valley, with mountain views along many routes.
What is the best time of day to go?
Late morning through early afternoon usually brings the warmest temperatures and best light. Winter days are short, so plan to be back before dusk.
Cancellation Policy
We look forward to getting you out on the trails! To receive a full refund or credit, bike rental cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled start date. Cancellations made within 72 hours, as well as no-shows, are non-refundable and will be charged the full reservation price. In the event of severe or unsafe trail weather on the day of your ride, your reservation may be rescheduled, subject to availability. Please be aware that reservations are non-transferable, and we do not provide passenger or rental shuttle services.
