Description
Private Snowshoe Night Hike & S'mores – Rocky Mountain National Park
Snow does something strange to sound at night — it muffles everything, until the only noise left is the crunch of snowshoes and your own breathing. Walking through that kind of quiet, under a winter sky, is a completely different experience from any daytime hike, and this trip is built around exactly that stillness.
Your guide leads the way on snowshoes, helping the group build night vision as you move through the snowy woods, sharing stories along the trail. The night wraps up around a camp stove with hot cocoa and s'mores — a warm reward after a cold, quiet walk through the winter dark.

FAQs
What is this hike about?
This is a guided evening snowshoe hike built around experiencing the winter woods after dark — quiet, snow-muffled trails, night-vision building, and storytelling, finishing with hot cocoa and s'mores over a camp stove.
Do I need snowshoeing experience for this hike?
No — your guide fits you with gear and walks you through the basics before setting out, and the pace is set for beginners.
Are snowshoes and other winter gear provided?
Yes — snowshoes, micro-spikes (if needed), trekking poles, a headlamp, and hand/toe warmers are all included.
Will we see wildlife or animal tracks?
Sightings vary at night, but your guide keeps an eye out for tracks and any wildlife activity along the trail.
Are s'mores really included?
Yes — hot cocoa and s'mores prepared over a camp stove are part of the trip.
What can I expect to see and do on a guided hike?
Beyond the hiking itself, your guide shares knowledge of the local history, geology, flowers, and trees, and keeps an eye out for wildlife along the way. If animals are spotted while driving and it's safe to stop, your guide will pull over so the group can observe from a safe distance. Elk, mule deer, marmots, pikas, and bighorn sheep are commonly seen, with moose and other wildlife possible as well.
Are your guides certified?
Yes. Guides are professional, trained, and Wilderness First Aid/CPR-certified.
How big are the groups, and will I be with strangers?
Every trip is a private, custom trip booked exclusively for your party — you won't be combined with other travelers. Group sizes run from 1 to 9 people, based on Rocky Mountain National Park's group-size regulations for a single certified guide.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, advance booking is recommended, especially during the busy summer season, to ensure guide and date availability.
Do I need a park pass?
You'll need a valid park pass or to pay the park entrance fee, but since you're on a guided trip, a timed-entry permit is not required — your guide handles that reservation for your group. Credit or debit is required at the park entrance; cash is not accepted.
