Please also be respectful of any marine animals including but not limited to turtles, rays, sharks, seals, and dolphins. Please never chase, harass, feed, or TOUCH any of the marine species. Enjoy their company if they approach from a distance and calmly move away from them if in their path.

FAQs
Will we see dolphins?
Most likely you will see dolphins while boating on your snorkeling adventure! They are wild animals though and we have no control where they go. Therefore, we cannot guarantee any sightings.
What marine life can I see while snorkeling in Destin?
- Tropical Reef Fish: Look for sergeant majors, angelfish, and butterflyfish swimming near rock jetties and artificial reefs.
- Snapper and Grouper: Common around deeper rock structures, particularly red snapper and gag grouper.
- Flounder: Flatfish that camouflage on sandy bottoms; keep an eye out for their subtle movement.
- Crabs: Blue crabs and hermit crabs scuttle along the sandy seabed or among seagrass beds.
- Sea Urchins: Found in rocky areas, especially near jetties. Handle with care—they’re spiny!
- Octopuses: Occasionally seen hiding in crevices or under rocks, blending in with their surroundings.
- Sea Stars: Starfish can often be spotted resting on sandy bottoms or near seagrass areas.
- Southern Stingrays: Gracefully glide along the sandy floor in shallow water. While they are not aggressive, shuffle your feet to avoid accidental contact.
- Cownose Rays: Frequently seen swimming in groups near the surface, especially during migration seasons.
- Green Sea Turtles: Occasionally spotted near seagrass beds or rock formations where they graze.
- Bottlenose Dolphins: While they are more commonly seen from boats, you may catch a glimpse of these playful mammals near the shore or around jetties.
- Nurse Sharks: Rare, but sometimes spotted resting near rock structures or reefs. These sharks are harmless and docile.
Are the captains certified?
Yes! Our captains are US Coast Guard licensed Masters, and both Captain and Crew are specifically trained in all aspects of swimming, snorkel, boat handling with First Aid & CPR!
What should I wear?
Swimming suits and have plenty of sunscreen!
Do you have wetsuits for cold water?
No we do not but they rent them across the street.
Do we need a reservation?
Yes reservations are required. You will need a major credit card to make a reservation. We recommend 1 to 2 days in advance.
What sunscreen can I use and why does it matter?
Common sunscreens contain chemicals that can harm coral reefs, as the particles are small enough to be absorbed by corals, causing toxicity and coral bleaching. Reef-friendly sunscreens are formulated without these harmful chemicals. Reef-SAFE sunscreens go a step further by using non-nano particles, which are too large for corals to ingest, helping to preserve marine ecosystems.
Please avoid sunscreens with oxybenzone, octinoxate, and parabens. Consider wearing sun-protective clothing, like long-sleeve rash guards, as an alternative to sunscreen. If you choose a mineral-based sunscreen, ensure it is labeled ‘non-nano.’
Can I snorkel if I wear glasses?
Standard eyeglasses can’t be worn with a snorkel mask, but prescription masks are available for those who need vision correction while snorkeling. If you’re interested, consider looking into a prescription mask option before your tour. Alternatively, contact lenses can be worn under a snorkel mask, though it’s best to close your eyes if water enters to prevent losing a lens.
Can you go underwater with a snorkel?
Yes, snorkels allow you to breathe with your face in the water at the surface. If you’d like to dive down, though, water will enter the snorkel, so you’ll need to hold your breath until you resurface. Once back at the surface, you can clear the snorkel by blowing out the air in your mouth hard. That should clear the snorkel, but if it doesn’t, tread the water, remove the snorkel from your mouth and dump the mouthpiece out.

Tickets are non refundable booking same day unless Destin Dolphin Cruise/Flippers Adventures cancels the event, you may however cancel a trip up to 24hrs in advance. NO SHOWS OR LATE ARRIVALS WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED OR REFUNDED.
