- Gated or private complexes with restricted access (e.g. keypads)

When will my kit arrive?
Your kit will arrive by AT LEAST 8pm the evening before your first rental day; under some circumstances, your package may arrive up to 5 days early. Please confirm address is secure.
How do I return my ski clothing rental?
Easy! First, hold on to the box we shipped it in. Each package includes an envelope with a pre-paid return label, packing tape and instructions. Package your KIT in its bag and seal it in the box with the provided tape.
Remove the original label or affix the return label over the original shipping label and drop it off at a FedEx ship center or call FedEx for a pickup at 1.800.GO.FEDEX. Failure to completely remove or cover the original label can cause delays in your return.
How does sizing work?
Please carefully review the sizing guide for each brand and product when selecting your KIT.
SIZING GUIDELINES:
- If you are at the high end of the measurement range, you may want to size up. For example, if your hip measurement is 36 and the MEDIUM pants are 34-36, then you may want to go to the next size LARGE 36-38
- Women's Pants - focus on the HIP measurement - A woman's size 6 pants in normal clothing is often a size 8 in ski clothing. This is because the cut of ski clothing is more straight so hourglass-shaped women need to size up to meet the hip measurement of the pants
- When sizing up, the length may be too long but that's okay because the pants go over ski boots. It's much better to be too long than too tight in the waist.
- Women might find they are a larger size than normal clothing but the physical inches measurements will confirm the correct size.
- Men's Pants - focus on the WAIST measurement
- Adult Jackets - please measure your chest size and follow the size listed on the size guide
- Gloves - sizing typically matches the size of your jacket but may consider sizing up or down if you have larger/smaller hands
- Kids (Jr and Toddler)- typically true to normal clothing size, so a T4 toddler in normal clothing will likely be a T4 in ski clothing
- Please follow the sizing guides per your child's height (in) and weight (lbs)
Do you offer plus sized kits?
We offer a wide range of plus sized Kit options:
- Men's kits - up to 2XL and 3XL
- Women's kits - up to 2X and 3X or size 22
Luhta is a specific brand for plus sized women in European Sizes.
Are my kits waterproof?
All pants and jackets have high high level of waterproofing and breathability to ensure warm and dry in snow and wet.
Do you offer Cross Country Skiing kits?
We do! The Shell jacket and pants are lightweight and breathable, yet offer great protection. The mid layer jacket offers the option of better insualtion for colder days, or a great outer layer for warmer, sunny days. The fleece top and bottoms will keep you cozy while wicking moisture.
Do you offer Backcountry Skiing kits?
We do! We provide high quality layering options that are ideal for a combination or uphill and downhill adventures. The shell jacket and pants block the wind and retain body heat for decents. Remove the shell jacket and Houdini Air mid layer jacket will offer breathability and comfort for the uphill trek.
Why are my goggles fogging?
Kit Lender uses a high quality brand of goggles and an anti fog cleanser. Here are some additional tips on preventing fog inside your goggles
- Fogging occurs because the warm and moist air inside your goggles is coming in contact with the cold surface of your lens. This humid air condenses into drops of water that build up on your lens.
- Anti-fog solutions that goggles are treated with nowadays can only suck up a certain amount of moisture. The rest is up to you.
- Stay in Motion
- Staying in movement is the best way to keep the air flowing.
- If you’re just getting off the lift and your goggles are a bit foggy, see how they do after going down the mountain a small distance at a decent speed. You don’t want to go gung-ho down a double black diamond trail with your vision impaired, so make sure things have cleared up before committing to a trail you would have trouble with.
- Let Air In On the Lifts
- Things tend to move a bit slowly on the lifts, so even with vents, there might not be enough wind for them to function fully, lift them off your face slightly and let some air in. You don’t need to go crazy, just a few seconds should be enough to let the air inside and outside the goggles even out a bit.
- If your gloves have snow on them, be extra careful to not get any snow or moisture on the vents of your goggles. This could make the problem worse.
- Check the Vents for Snow and Moisture
- But be careful about using your gloves or your fingers to wipe it off. You might end up rubbing the snow in. Instead, tap your goggles against a hard surface so that the snow falls off.
- If the padding on your goggles has already been saturated with water, the only option may be letting them dry naturally.
- Wear a Helmet With a Visor
- When snow is coming down from the sky, a properly fitted visor helmet is the only thing between moisture and the top portion of your goggles. When selecting such a helmet, you still want to make sure there is a little room between the top vents of the goggles and the visor. If you block the vents off completely, it will interfere with their function.
- Don’t Rest Goggles On Your Head
- Heat rises. If you rest your goggles on the top of your head or on a vented helmet (most are), then all of the hot humid air from your body is going to go into the goggles. It’s best not to remove your goggles from your eyes during your runs unless you absolutely have to.
- Properly Dry Out Your Goggles
- When you’re done skiing for the day, the best thing to do is to let your goggles rest on the counter or some other place where they can dry naturally. Some people will recommend using a hair dryer, but this can potentially lead to issues down the road. Just be patient.
Do you offer low bridge goggles?
Yes, for customers who prefer a seamless fit with flatter nose bridges, we offer a Low Bridge fit goggle.
Can I wear goggles over my glasses?
For adults who wear prescription glasses, we offer Over The Glasses goggles. Over the Glasses goggles are an option in all adult snow kits. Junior Goggles are all Over-The-Glass compatible
We never take clear vision for granted, which means you can. The Smith Knowledge OTG goggles are Over-The-Glass compatible . In other words, you can wear them over your prescription glasses. The regulator adjustable lens ventilation keeps the air flowing for consistent fog-free performance, add a pressure-free fit around the temples, and you've found the goggles for skiers and riders with prescription lens needs.
Regular goggles are a good replacement for sunglasses and most people don't need sunglasses under their goggles.
Can we upgrade to premium goggles?
All our kits come with a high-quality Smith Goggle. If you prefer to upgrade, we have the following premium options.
- Mens - Smith (Black | Premium | IO)
- Womens - Smith (White | Premium | IO)
Whether you're looking to sight your landing or simply take in the full mountain view, little compares to the widescreen view from inside a pair of Smith I/O goggles. Match the unobstructed view of their frameless design with our color-boosting, contrast-enhancing ChromaPop™ lens and the terrain just unfolds in front you as fast as you can take it all in. And don't worry about fogging. The I/O gets our highest level of anti-fog treatment and integrates with our helmets for airflow that keeps the view sharp through all weather conditions. The quick-release lens system lets you quickly match your tint to the day.
Do you rent ski or snowboard boots?
No, we rent snow boots for wearing around town or snowshoeing. Ski boots and Snowboard boots are generally rented at the mountain with your ski rental or snowboard rental package.
What are snow boots?
Snow boots are for wearing around town to keep your feet warm and dry in snowy conditions. Most kits come with an option to include snow boots or you can add them separately
You would want to wear snow boots for activities like sledding, dog sledding, sleigh riding, snowmobiling, or walking around the resort.
Do snow boots run true to size?
Generally, boot sizing is true to normal shoe size. However, we recommend sizing up when in doubt, as you can wear a thicker sock for added warmth. We may substitute up to a 1/2 size larger.
What are temperature ranges for your ski clothing?
Ski clothing doesn't really have temperature ranges anymore. This is because everybody will feel cold with the same clothing at different temperatures.
Insulation fill is key to warmth. Most of our products have highly-rated insulation fill levels and should keep you warm in below zero temperatures.
Some of our kits are designed for more active activities, like cross-country and backcountry skiing, and are not insulated.
Details of the products like insulation levels are in the description of each product and KIT. Look for the word shell in the description to indicate if it is not insulated.
The North Face 3-1 and Patagonia 3-1 Have the highest insulation levels and will keep you warmest in cold temperatures. We also suggest base layers and wool socks.
Can I rent just a jacket or pants?
Yes! Search for a la cart items like jackets or pants on our webpage individually; if you're ordering multiple items, COMPLETE KITs always offer the biggest savings.
I've never skied before. What do I need?
If you’re new to skiing, KIT LENDER makes it easy to get fully outfitted with everything you need for your first day on the mountain.
Start by choosing a Complete Outerwear Kit with Boots, which covers all your essential outer layers — including a jacket, pants, gloves, goggles, and boots. Once you’ve selected your outerwear, add a Stay Warm Kit to layer underneath. This kit includes insulating base layers like a long-sleeve top, long john bottoms, and ski socks to keep you comfortable in colder conditions.
When choosing pieces, look for insulated jackets or shells (3-in-1 styles are a great option), warm pants, well-fitting boots, and quality gloves and goggles. Proper base layers and wool socks are especially important — warm feet and dry layers make a huge difference in how much you enjoy your day.
One key tip: avoid cotton. Cotton holds moisture, stays wet, and can quickly make you cold. Stick with technical or wool fabrics designed for winter sports.
If you’re unsure what to select or want help building your kit, you can always start a live chat and one of our agents will be happy to help you get dialed in.
Will I be warm?
All our products are designed for outdoor winter recreation comfort. Be sure to wear appropriate base layers, and if you don't have your own, they can be rented in our Stay Warm Kits.
Do you offer pants in short or long length?
Many of our adult kits will have the option to rent short pants. We also have some pants available in long or tall length.
If you don't see short or long length pants as option on your kit choice, then you can do the following:
- Check out with the full kit
- In the "INSTRUCTIONS" text box below "SHIPPING ADDRESS" during checkout make a note to the customer service team with the swap you would like to make. i.e. Please remove the sleeping bag from the 4 person deluxe kit
- An agent will reach out to you regarding the availability of the swap as well as any additional costs or refunds that may be due.
- Reply to your order confirmation if you have not had a response within 24 hours of your order.
Can I swap or remove an item from my kit?
Most kits are bundled together for the best price.
If you only need one item from a kit try using the search function to rent the item individually.
If you prefer a different option that is not a selection on your kit choice, then you can do the following:
- Check out with the full kit
- In the "INSTRUCTIONS" text box below "SHIPPING ADDRESS" during checkout make a note to the customer service team with the swap you would like to make. i.e. Please remove the sleeping bag from the 4 person deluxe kit
- An agent will reach out to you regarding the availability of the swap as well as any additional costs or refunds that may be due.
- Reply to your order confirmation if you have not had a response within 24 hours of your order.
Can you take last-minute orders?
We always try! Enter your dates and delivery location on the website; if you can check out, we can get it to you! Our site dynamically crunches packing and FedEx nationwide delivery times to determine if we can get your KIT to you in time.
If you can't check out, the site has determined delivery isn't possible within that window.
What happens if I return my kit late?
Cleaning and shipping each KIT requires careful scheduling; a late return delays–or could ultimately cancel–the next order. We want your return to be easy and stress-free, which is why you have until 12pm the day following your rental to get your kit into FedEx possession.
You will not be charged any late fees as long as FedEx has scanned it by the end of the day. If you are unable to reach FedEx in time, please contact us immediately. If we do not hear from you after 3 days of your final rental day you will be charged the full retail price of your KIT.
KITs received late may be charged additional rental days. KITS received after the full retail has been charged may receive a refund, less any shipping fees or additional rental days. We understand that things happen, and, above all, want to ensure that all customers have a great experience with our service--so if you're worried about being late, just give us a call. We can often extend your rental days at the discounted rate.
My rental property won't accept packages - now what?
If your property or hotel won't accept a package you can send it to a FedEx shipping center at or near your rental property. We recommend calling to check the hours of operation and confirm the center holds packages (a few don't).
*Make sure you only look for a "Fedex Ship Center" or "Fedex Authorized Ship Center" (there is a filter and key at the bottom of the map), and that they accept Ground and Express shipments. "Dropbox" Locations are too small to return your package, and it's always a good idea to get a receipt or confirmation number when dropping off to confirm it's in FedEx's possession.
My first rental day is the day after a holiday or Sunday. Will my KIT be on time?
We make sure your kit arrives by 8 PM the night before your first rental day. If that's a holiday or a day FedEx doesn't deliver, it may arrive up to 5 days early.
How new is your rental clothing?
All of our kits are in excellent or "like new" condition. We are always adding new product to our existing inventory. If you rent early in the season, you'll likely get clothing with tags still on it.
What if my kit doesn't fit?
We provide sizing guides on all KIT/product pages. If you're unsure or between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
If your KIT doesn't fit, contact us immediately so we can work with you. If the wrong size was shipped, we'll try to expedite the correct item to you in time for your first rental day. If your KIT was shipped correctly, we may still be able to send you a replacement for the cost of shipping. We are able to ship most replacement items to you for a $50.
How do I size for kids?
Most kids' items are based on age, and sizing is based on the brand you choose. If the sizing is listed by Small, Medium, Large, click on the sizing guide on the item page to translate that to your child's age. When you're not sure, always size up (especially in gloves and mittens!).
Children and kids sizing is roughly based on their age. Junior sizing is for ages 7 (about) and up while kid sizing is for ages 7 and under.
Cancellation Policy
Stuff happens. Your order is refundable up to the point it leaves our warehouse on its way to you. Depending how far your destination is from our warehouse, that could be up to 2 weeks before your first rental day.
