Mountain Threads - Ski Clothing Rental Shipped or Denver Pick Up

It's easy! Pick out your gear online and use the calendar to tell us your first and last rental days. Select store pick-up, UPS shipping, or local courier (delivery) at checkout.

You’ll want to be warm and dry. The essentials are waterproof, insulated pants, jacket and gloves. We also recommend goggles to protect your eyes and they will make the mountain much more visible. These all make up our Performance Package, our most popular rental item.

You’ll want a warm base layer–long underwear and socks, preferably made from synthetic fabric or wool. Cotton is not the best choice for base layers as it tends to hold the sweat against your skin while making you colder. Our Hot Chillys and Polarmax brand base layer for men, women, and kids wicks moisture away from your skin but traps body heat to keep you warm, dry and comfortable.

On really cold days, you’ll want to add a mid-layer such as a sweater or fleece. We offer fleeces for sale.

You will also want to protect your head and feet. We have helmets available for rent. Helmets offer better protection from falls. For your feet, you’ll need something waterproof and warm when you are not in your ski/snowboard boots. We have snow boots for all ages.

*You will also need skis with ski boots or a snowboard with snowboard boots. We do not offer hard goods but we will point you in the right direction.

For our rental gear, we carry jackets, pants and gloves from Scott Sports, Boulder Gear, and Rossignol. We carry both Sorel and Kamik for our rental boots. We rent goggles, helmets, and boot bags by Outdoor Master. We sell headwear from Bula, baselayers and socks from Hot Chillys and Polarmax.

Our outerwear sizing runs from 2T-4T for toddlers, XXS-XL for Youth. Our women’s selection goes from S-3XL. Our men’s sizing is S-4XL.

Without traffic, we are approximately 45 minutes west of Denver International Airport (DEN)

If you select courier delivery, your order will be delivered to your accommodations on the evening before or in the early morning of your first rental day. Your gear will be delivered in one or more black Mountain Threads duffel bags. Each bag will have a luggage tag with your last name and lodging address on it. Please double check to make sure we have the correct name and address of where you will be checking in as well as any unit number and any special instructions (e.g. gate code). If we are delivering to a vacation rental (as opposed to a hotel) we must coordinate with the property management so that we can ensure delivery prior to your arrival.

WHEN YOU'RE READY TO RETURN THE GEAR

On your last rental day, please empty all pockets, pack the rental gear back in the black Mountain Threads duffel bag(s) and leave it at the hotel reception desk on your last rental date. At vacation rentals, please leave with property management to ensure a seamless pickup on our behalf.

You will receive a tracking number when your gear is ready to ship. It will arrive at least one day before you arrive? If you are receiving your gear at a private residence or vacation rental, please communicate with the property management office to coordinate a seamless delivery. If you are receiving at a hotel, please check with the concierge. Please do not discard the box and return supplies.

WHEN YOU'RE READY TO RETURN THE GEAR

In your shipment you will find all the supplies you need to return the rental clothing via UPS. Please empty all pockets and pack the gear back in the box on your last rental day. Apply the pre-paid return label to the box. There are pre-cut packaging tape strips to seal the box securely. Please leave the box at the hotel reception desk and ask them to include it in their next UPS pickup. If you received the gear at a private residence or vacation rental, please drop off the package at the nearest UPS location.

We recommend placing your order two weeks in advance for regular season orders and a month or more in advance during peak season (holidays and spring break). We are able to process most orders with little to no advance, however, everything operates more efficiently by pre-booking.

No. You will be charged for every day that the gear is in your possession.

You are charged for each day the gear is in your possession. Whether you pick up your gear at 8AM or 8PM, it is one rental day. Even if you are not skiing for one of your vacation days, you will still have our gear in your possession. As a business, we cannot rent it to another customer if it is in your possession, therefore, you must pay the rental costs for each day.

There are replacement fees associated with all of our rental products. These fees are typically 50% of the retail value. Please do your best to not lose or damage the gear.

No. You will be charged for every day that the gear is in your possession.

Yes! We have a lockbox that will have your gear prepared in Mountain Threads duffel bags for pickups outside of business hours and a dropbox for drop‑offs outside of business hours.

As long as it's secure, wherever is easiest for you! Make sure to order at least a week before your trip. We recommend shipping to a secure location to minimize porch piracy and ensure it's there when you need it.

• Place of work or other business that can accept and hold packages for you
• Residence with secure package delivery option

• Unsecured apartment lobbies
• Residences with no one home
• VRBOs or AirBnBs (unless the property manager has agreed to store the package for you)
• Gated or private complexes with restricted access (e.g. keypads)

Easy! Either drop off 24/7 at our Denver location on your way back from the resort, or if you choose the shipping option, all prices include 2-way shipping. Return labels will be included in the box.

You will find our sizing guides located on each product page near the sizing selection. We also have a dedicated page that shows all of this information in one place. All of our clothing runs true to size (U.S.).

As a good rule of thumb, your jacket size is your t-shirt size and your pants are mostly based on your waist size. If you are on the border of two sizes, it’s usually better to size up as typically you will be wearing additional layers underneath. We do not recommend trying to fit into something based on the size that sounds good to your ego. It is always better to be a little loose than a little tight when it comes to ski apparel.

No, we rent snow boots for wearing around town or snowshoeing. Ski boots and Snowboard boots are generally rented at the mountain with your ski rental or snowboard rental package.

Generally, boot sizing is true to normal shoe size. However, we recommend sizing up when in doubt, as you can wear a thicker sock for added warmth. We may substitute up to a 1/2 size larger.

Yes! We do rent a la cart items like jackets or pants on our webpage individually; if you're ordering multiple items, packages always offer the biggest savings.

If you are having your rentals shipped, reserve at least a week before you leave for your trip to ensure there is enough time to receive your package. We recommend reserving your gear as soon as your trip is booked to ensure the best availability of gear.
