Description

Single Kayak Rental on Lake Estes

Point the bow toward the mountains and set your own pace on Lake Estes, a calm, wakeless lake tucked against the Rockies. Paddling solo means every stroke and stop is up to you — glide along the shoreline, drift near the reeds where waterfowl gather, and take in views of the Continental Divide from the water.

The lake is small enough to cover at an easy pace, so you can loop the shoreline, stop mid-lake for the view, or just paddle around without much of a plan. It's a straightforward way to spend an hour on the water on your own.

Duration

The marina operates seasonally, generally from around May through October depending on weather. Watercraft rentals are not offered on Tuesdays.

Choose from 1-hour, 2-hour, 3-hour, or 4-hour rental blocks

FAQs

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially on weekends and during peak summer months, to guarantee availability.

Do I need to pay an extra fee to use my rental on the lake?

No — every watercraft on Lake Estes requires a lake use fee, but that fee is already built into your rental price. You'll only need to cover your vehicle's parking/use fee separately.

What happens if the weather is turns during my rental?

If the marina cancels a reservation due to unforeseen weather like lightning, high wind, or other unsafe conditions, you'll receive a full refund or credit.

Do I need previous paddling experience?

No experience is required. Lake Estes is a small, wakeless lake, which makes it a comfortable spot for first-time paddlers.

Is the single kayak good for beginners?

Yes. Lake Estes' calm, no-wake water makes the single kayak an easy, low-pressure way to try kayaking for the first time.

What is the difference between the single and tandem kayak?

The single kayak is built for one paddler who wants full control of their own boat, while the tandem seats two people paddling together.

How far can I paddle from the marina?

You're free to explore the lake's shoreline within the boating area; motorized and non-motorized craft are asked to stay a wakeless distance from shore anglers and other boats.
