🗓️ Cancellation Policies & Terms
By completing your reservation, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to Kenai Backcountry Adventures' Reservation Policies and Passenger Weight Policy, including all applicable cancellation terms, weather policies, minimum participation requirements, trip modification provisions, fees, passenger weight requirements, and guest responsibilities.
Many KBA trips involve advance staffing, transportation, permits, aircraft logistics, accommodations, third-party services, and limited inventory. As a result, we are unable to make exceptions to our cancellation policies due to illness, injury, medical emergencies, family emergencies, missed flights, travel delays, adverse weather affecting travel, work obligations, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Guests are responsible for protecting themselves against unexpected cancellations, interruptions, weather delays, missed connections, medical expenses, evacuation costs, lost baggage, gear purchases, airline changes, lodging expenses, and other unforeseen events or outside costs.
KBA is not responsible for airfare, lodging, transportation, meals, travel insurance premiums, gear purchases, lost wages, missed connections, missed travel, or any other incidental, consequential, or outside expenses arising from cancellations, delays, interruptions, shortened itineraries, weather impacts, minimum participation requirements, or other trip modifications.

Minimum Participation Requirements
Certain trips require a minimum number of participants in order to operate.
If a trip does not meet minimum participation requirements, KBA reserves the right to cancel, combine, reschedule, or otherwise modify the trip. Guests may be offered available alternatives, including transferring to another trip, purchasing additional spots to meet the minimum, waiting to see if additional guests book, or receiving a refund if KBA cancels the trip due to insufficient participation.
In the event KBA cancels a trip due to insufficient participation, guests will receive a refund of booking payments made directly to KBA for that trip, excluding non-refundable online booking fees, processing fees, TripSafe fees, and other non-refundable third-party charges.
KBA is not responsible for airfare, lodging, transportation, meals, travel insurance premiums, gear purchases, lost wages, missed connections, missed travel, or any other incidental, consequential, or outside expenses resulting from a trip not meeting minimum participation requirements. Third-Party Bookings & Services
- Reservations made through travel agencies, booking platforms, resellers, or other third parties are subject to that provider's terms and conditions.
- Certain packages or itineraries may include services operated by independent third-party providers whose policies may govern their portion of the booking.
Weather, Delays & Travel Disruptions
Alaska travel is inherently weather dependent. Trips may be delayed, interrupted, shortened, extended, rerouted, or otherwise modified due to weather, transportation issues, safety concerns, mechanical issues, wildlife activity, minimum participation requirements, or other circumstances beyond KBA's control.
Weather-related delays, shortened itineraries, interrupted trips, missed trip days, delayed pickups, extended stays, minimum participation issues, or inability to operate according to the planned itinerary are not considered guest cancellations and do not entitle guests to reimbursement, compensation, damages, or payment for outside expenses.
Guests are responsible for expenses arising from delays, interruptions, cancellations, or trip modifications, including lodging, meals, transportation, airline changes, missed connections, gear purchases, travel insurance premiums, and other incidental or consequential expenses.
Travel delays, weather holds, missed connections, minimum participation requirements, and schedule disruptions are inherent risks of travel in Alaska and are risks assumed by the guest.
Non-Refundable Fees
- Online booking fees, processing fees, TripSafe fees, and other non-refundable third-party charges are non-refundable.
- Refund calculations apply only to booking payments made directly to KBA.
- The amount returned to the original payment method may be less than the total amount originally charged.
For complete terms and conditions, please refer to our Reservation Policies. In the event of any conflict between this summary and the full Reservation Policies, the full Reservation Policies shall govern.
