Semi-Private Stand Up Paddle Lesson

Stand up paddle boarding is an outdoor watersport that originated right here in Hawaii as an offshoot of the original art of surfing. It offers a unique way to interact with the water that can be fun and a great source of exercise as well. Whether you have never stood up on a board before or you are an avid paddler, LahAina Surf Shack is here to create a perfect lesson plan for you. All our lessons are 90 minutes long and take place inside a protective reef, making the conditions ideal for SUP activity. All our SUP lessons are capped at a four to one student to instructor ratio, ensuring you always get the attention you deserve in the water. These lessons are offered based on skill level, as shown below:

This basic class teaches footing, balance and paddling form. We will make you comfortable with the board and the water.

These lessons are perfect for people who have become accustomed to the board and are looking for a richer experience. We even offer a new class in this skill group that combines SUP lessons with snorkeling so students can cruise around the reefs on their board and stop along the way to snorkel and see marine life. Masks and goggles are not provided. If you would like to explore the reefs, please bring your own. It is a beautiful way to connect with the natural wonders of Hawaii.

We will take you out to the waves and teach you how to manage your board on them. Advanced turns, timing, and speed will all be addressed in these fun and challenging lessons. Please note in your reservations that you would like an 'Advanced Lesson'.
