Description

Truckee River Rafting Trip – Self-Guided Float in Tahoe City

Experience the scenic beauty of Lake Tahoe’s Truckee River on a leisurely, self-guided five-mile raft float. Perfect for families, couples, and friends, this trip winds through serene waters, gentle rapids, and picture-perfect swimming holes. The river meanders past lush banks and mountain vistas, offering opportunities to stop for a picnic, a swim, or just to soak in the calm of the northern Tahoe landscape.
This adventure is low-stress but full of enjoyment—even first-time rafters and children as young as two can join. Each raft is a large, sturdy, commercial white-water–grade vessel. The self-guided nature allows your party to paddle at your own pace, explore sandbars, or simply float and enjoy the scenery. Staff are on hand at the launch to assist with safety, paddles, life jackets, and shuttle logistics, ensuring the day runs smoothly from start to finish.
Dogs are welcome, and guests are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, or a picnic to enjoy along the banks or at the River Ranch Lodge at the end of the float. The journey concludes with a relaxing exit directly onto the River Ranch Lodge patio, where you can enjoy a riverside meal or beverage.
