Description
Kendall Mountain Season Pass - Silverton, CO
Ski or ride twice, ten times, or every weekend — a season pass here means showing up whenever the snow calls without ever thinking about a reservation. This is small-mountain skiing the way it used to be: a single chairlift, a handful of runs cut into a San Juan Mountains hillside, and a laid-back home base where regulars know each other by name. Pass holders get to treat the mountain like a backyard hill, ducking in for a quick lap after work or spending a full lazy Saturday lapping the chair with the family.
Duration
- Valid for unlimited skiing and riding on every day Kendall Mountain is open for the covered season (typically late December through mid-March, weather dependent)
Location / Where to Meet
- Kendall Mountain Ski Area, at the end of 14th Street in Silverton, Colorado — about four blocks from downtown
- The ski area sits directly adjacent to the Kendall Mountain Recreation Area, home to a free town ice rink and sledding hill
- Pass pickup and the rental/ticket window are both located at the base area Lift Shack
Ages & Requirements
- Season passes are priced by age tier (adult, senior, teen/child, military/veteran); children 5 and under ski free but still require a physical ticket for waiver purposes under the Colorado Skier Safety Act
- This is a beginner-friendly, low-intensity hill well suited to first-timers and families learning to ski or ride, as well as more experienced skiers looking for a relaxed full day
What's Included
- Unlimited chairlift access for every day the mountain operates during the covered season
- No reservation requirement — pass holders can ski any open day without booking ahead
- Access to the terrain park features (tree runs, small jumps, rails)
Not Included
- Ski or snowboard rentals — see rentals here
- Lessons or instruction
- Food and beverage
- Ice rink or sledding hill use is a separate, free town amenity and is not a lift-served part of the pass
What to Bring / Wear
- Warm, weather-appropriate layers — base layer, insulated mid-layer, and a waterproof/windproof outer shell
- Waterproof gloves or mittens
- Ski or snowboard goggles and sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm) for bright bluebird days at altitude
- Warm socks suited to ski or snowboard boots
- A neck gaiter or face covering for cold, windy days on the chair

FAQs
Does Kendall Mountain make snow?
No. The mountain relies entirely on natural snowfall, so it typically opens later in December once a solid base has built up, and conditions can shift through the season depending on recent weather.
Is there a daily capacity limit?
Yes. Because it's a small hill, daily visitor numbers are capped, so purchasing a season pass is a great option for the flexibility to ski whenever you'd like - no reservation required.
Is there food available at the base?
There's no on-mountain restaurant, but downtown Silverton is just a few blocks away with several casual, highly rated spots to eat after skiing.
Can I rent ski or snowboard gear at Kendall Mountain?
Yes, ski and snowboard rentals are available - we recommend renting online in advance to ensure availability.
Do I need to make a reservation on the days I plan to ski?
No — reservations are only required for daily lift ticket categories due to the capacity cap. Season pass holders can show up and ski on any day the mountain is open, no booking required.
Cancellation Policy
- Daily lift tickets are available in limited quantities — this includes free tickets for children 5 and under. We encourage purchasing your tickets in advance of your trip to ensure your spot on the mountain!
- Day tickets are eligible for refunds if cancellations are made a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your reservation date, or if normal calendared ski area operations are interrupted to a point where skiing is unavailable for the entirety of the day. Please allow up to 30 days for a credit to appear on your card statement.
- Season pass holders enjoy reservation-free skiing every day we are open!
- Students enrolled in the Silverton School receive a free season pass!
- All season pass sales are final.
