Scenic Flatwater Paddle on the Wild and Scenic Rogue River

Join us for a scenic paddle down a beautiful, calm stretch of the Rogue River, one of Oregon’s most iconic rivers. This guided 4-mile journey takes you through a calm and picturesque section of the federally designated Wild and Scenic Rogue River, surrounded by lush forest and steep riverbanks teeming with wildlife.
Perfect for novice or experienced paddlers looking to slow down and soak in the scenery, this paddle includes gentle riffles to keep things fun and dynamic without requiring technical skills. You’ll have your choice of a single kayak, tandem kayak, or stand-up paddleboard (SUP), making it easy to tailor the experience to your comfort and style. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take a refreshing swim in the river’s clear, sun-warmed water.
This stretch of the Rogue offers a unique perspective of the region’s rich natural beauty and provides a quiet escape into the heart of Southern Oregon. Your guide will offer insights into the area’s ecology, history, and wildlife, making this trip as enriching as it is relaxing.
We’ll take care of the shuttle so you can enjoy a one-way float without the logistics. Just bring your sense of adventure—and maybe a swimsuit—and we’ll handle the rest.

FAQs

How challenging is kayaking on the Rogue River?

This fairly easy 4 mile paddle is all flat water in a beautiful stretch of Forest Service Wild and Scenic Rogue River. There are some fast moving riffles, but this tour is more geared for the novice paddler or the expert looking for a beautiful stretch of river. This is a one way paddle with a shuttle and there are multiple chances to take a dip in the warm Rogue River.

Do I need prior paddling experience?

Not at all! For this novice trip, the stretch of river is flatwater with a few mild riffles, making it perfect for beginners. Experienced paddlers will also enjoy the beautiful surroundings and mellow flow.

Can I choose my craft?

Yes! You can choose between a single kayak, tandem kayak, or stand-up paddleboard (SUP). Let us know your preference when booking so we can bring the right gear for you.

Which craft should I choose?

It depends on your comfort level and the kind of experience you’re looking for.

  • Single kayak: Great for solo paddlers who want more independence and maneuverability.
  • Tandem kayak: Perfect for pairs who want to paddle together—ideal for families with kids or couples.
  • Stand-up paddleboard (SUP): A fun and slightly more active option for those with good balance or looking for a bit of a challenge.

If you're unsure, single and tandem kayaks tend to be the most stable and beginner-friendly options.

What kind of wildlife might we see?

This area is home to river otters, herons, osprey, bald eagles, kingfishers, and more. Keep your eyes peeled—wildlife sightings are common!

Can we swim in the river?

Yes! There are several great spots to take a dip in the Rogue's clear, warm water. Your guide will point them out along the way.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

This tour must have at least three people to run or be charged for 3 paddlers. Bookings for just 1 or 2 people will be subject to rebooking, dependent on availability. We will contact you directly if this relates to your booking. If necessary, refunds are available.

Should I bring my camera?

It's best to leave the camera behind unless it is rated for use in and around water. Our guides will be sure to snap some photos of you while you’re out on your tour as well.

Should I tip my guide?

Tipping is always appreciated and a great way to recognize your guide’s hard work. Guiding is part of the service industry, and if your guide provides a safe, informative, and enjoyable experience, a tip is a meaningful way to say thank you.
