Description
Stand Up Paddleboard Rental in Basalt, CO - Roaring Fork Valley
Grab an inflatable paddleboard and head out to one of the lakes, reservoirs, or rivers scattered across the Roaring Fork Valley, from Aspen down through Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs. The board comes clean and deflated, so it packs down small and travels easily to wherever you're headed.
Popular spots include Stillwater and Northstar Preserve or Twin Lakes and Grizzly Reservoir near Aspen; Ruedi Reservoir, Chapman Reservoir, or Naste Lake around Basalt, El Jebel, and Willits; Dinkle Lake or the Roaring Fork River near Carbondale; and Rifle Gap, Harvey Gap, the Colorado River, or the Roaring Fork River out toward Glenwood Springs. Wherever you paddle, you'll have the high alpine scenery of the valley around you the whole time.
Duration
- Rental period options are from 1-3 days, picked up and returned during daily hours from 9am to 4:30pm.
- After-hours or next-morning returns can be arranged for an additional fee
Location of Rental Pickup
- Meet your rental team at the pickup location, 1460 East Valley Road, Basalt, CO 81621
- This is a trailer pickup point, not a staffed storefront — your rental team meets you there only when gear is going out or coming back, so plan for about 30 minutes' notice before pickup or return
- If an evening pickup doesn't work for your schedule, you can reserve for the next day and choose an early pickup time instead

- If you plan to paddle a river instead of a lake, river SUPing is not recommended without a guide or solid river-reading and self-rescue skills

FAQs
Do I need to book in advance?
Booking in advance is highly recommended — your rental team only meets you at the pickup location when gear is going out or coming back, so a reservation helps make sure someone's available.
Can I keep my board overnight or return it the next morning?
Yes, after-hours or next-morning returns can be arranged for an additional fee.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome, and dog PFDs are available as an add-on.
Can two people share one paddlebaord
It's built for one paddler at a time; if you're paddling with a partner, plan on renting a second board. However, young children may ride with an adult on flatwater lakes.
Can I use this on a river instead of a lake?
Yes, but river paddling takes more skill and caution than flat water. We recommend a guide or solid river-reading and self-rescue skills, and specifically advise against using an ankle leash on rivers.
Can I turn this into a sit-down kayak?
Yes, a seat and paddle can be added to convert the board into a sit-down setup — ask your rental team about this option.
