FAQs

What is the difference between the lesson options?

Our most popular option for beginners to intermediate stand up paddlers, the group lesson, delivers high-quality SUP instruction at an incredible value. Your class never has more than four students for each instructor, so you’re sure to get plenty of personalized attention. We start with a 30-minute land demonstration and spend the rest of the time surfing in the ocean. Participants must be at least 11 years old.

Looking for Oahu SUP lessons for your little ones? The private one-on-one lesson is specially designed for your precious keikis — or kids — between three and 11 years old. Having the undivided attention of our experienced SUP instructor is guaranteed to be the safest and most effective way for young keiki to experience stand up paddle boarding in Hawaii. We start with a land demonstration before moving the lesson to the ocean. No matter what, the instructor is with your child every step of the way.
What if the weather is bad?
Our activity is supposed to be fun for everybody so if it looks like it’s not going to be, we’ll reschedule if it’s possible. If not, we’ll refund. Other than weather and illness, cancellations within 24 hours are not refunded, cancellations between 24 and 48 hours are half refunded, and cancellations outside of 48 hours are fully refunded.
Should I be worried about sharks?
Incidents of sharks biting people in Hawaiian waters are very rare, occurring on average at a rate of about three or four per year. Fatal shark bites are extremely rare, especially considering the number of people in Hawaii’s waters. People who enter the water need to recognize that there are hidden dangers. A number of marine animals can cause serious injury to people, and sharks are just one example. Entering the ocean should be considered a “wilderness experience,” where people are visitors in a world that belongs to the sharks. The risk of injury caused by sharks is extremely small, but it is a risk accepted by anyone who enters the shark’s world. By learning more about sharks, using common sense, and observing the following safety tips, the risk may be greatly reduced.
