Littleton Paddleboard Lessons - Chatfield State Park Denver
Learn to paddleboard at one of Denver’s best spots for flatwater fun. Our seasonal SUP lessons run from May through September at Chatfield Reservoir, with certified instructors guiding you through a 75-minute session designed for all skill levels. Whether you're brand new or looking to sharpen your technique, our group classes are equal parts informative and fun.
Lessons take place at the Gravel Pond, a peaceful spring-fed area tucked inside Chatfield State Park on the southwest edge of Denver. Reserved exclusively for paddlecraft, this quiet pond offers clean water and scenic foothill views, ideal for practicing balance, strokes, and confidence on the board.

Meet at the Gravel Ponds: After entering park, take a right (south) and head 2 miles on park road to Gravel Pond on the right.

Is parking available?
Yes! Chatfield has plenty of parking on a first-come, first-served basis. Note: You’ll need to pay for a day or annual state park pass to enter, but there’s no extra fee for parking inside.
Where do the lessons take place?
All lessons are held at the Gravel Pond in Chatfield State Park, southwest of Denver. It’s a calm, spring-fed pond reserved only for paddle craft. That means no motorboats, just peaceful water and great views.
When are lessons available?
Lessons run seasonally from May 1 through September 30. It’s the perfect way to soak up Colorado’s sunny months.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Yes. For your safety, all participants must be able to swim.
Do I need previous experience to go paddleboarding?
No. It's beginner-friendly and suitable for all skill levels.
Can kids join the lessons?
Absolutely. Kids over 8 can paddle their own board. Younger children are welcome too, but they’ll need to share a board with a parent or guardian.
What is the weather policy?
Unsafe conditions may lead to cancellation/rescheduling. You'll have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
Cancellation Policy
Customers will receive a full refund or credit towards future availability with at least 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive credit or refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.
