Description

Private Zion Electric Bike Tour - Scenic Zion National Park E-Bike Ride

Most people see Zion from a shuttle window or from the end of a hiking trail. This tour is something different. Riding an e-bike through Zion Canyon puts you at eye level with the landscape and close enough to feel the scale of the canyon walls, free to stop whenever something catches your attention, and moving at a pace that lets the place actually sink in. Guides help you understand what trails are worth your time, where to avoid crowds, and what you might otherwise walk right past without context. And, if you're on a morning tour, the bike is yours for the rest of the day at no extra cost!

The Zion Canyon Scenic Drive runs 8.7 miles (14 km) through the heart of the park, closed to private vehicles from April through October and shared only with the park shuttle buses. On an e-bike, you have the whole road to yourself in a way that a shuttle never allows. Your guide leads the group along the drive, stopping at roadside viewpoints to share the stories behind what you're seeing—the geology of Zion's layered sandstone, the history of the 2,000-foot cableworks that once connected the canyon rim to the valley floor, the Ancestral Puebloan granary tucked beneath Weeping Rock that dates to between 680 and 880 A.D., California condors soaring overhead, and the Sentinel Landslide that dramatically altered the canyon's shape. The Great White Throne, the Court of the Patriarchs, Big Bend—each one of these landmarks has a story, and a good guide makes them all come alive.

The e-bikes take care of the climbing so you can focus on everything else. Specialized® e-bikes are used specifically for their comfortable geometry, smooth ride, and effortless pedal assist—wide tires, a comfortable seat, and technology that makes the uphill feel as easy as the downhill. Whether you haven't been on a bike in years or ride regularly, these bikes are genuinely approachable for all ability levels.

This tour is perfect for first-time Zion visitors—it covers the length of the canyon in a single morning or afternoon, gives you a knowledgeable local guide to orient you to the park's highlights, and sets you up perfectly for the rest of your trip.

FAQs

Is this tour appropriate for someone who hasn't biked in a long time?

Absolutely. The Specialized e-bikes used on this tour are specifically chosen for their comfortable, approachable design—the pedal assist does the heavy lifting on any incline and the wide tires handle the paved road smoothly. If you can steer and brake, you can ride these bikes comfortably. Guides will do a quick orientation at pickup so everyone feels confident before heading out.

What will we learn on the tour?

Your guide covers a range of topics depending on group interest, including Zion's layered rock geology (billions of years of sediment visible in the canyon walls), the 2,000-foot cableworks that once transported materials from the canyon rim to the valley floor, the Ancestral Puebloan granary at Weeping Rock dating to 680–880 A.D., the California condor recovery program, the Sentinel Landslide, the historic first ascent of the Great White Throne, and insight into which trails are worth your time for the rest of your visit. No two tours are exactly alike—guides tailor the experience to the group.

Is this a good tour for first time Zion visitors?

It's specifically recommended as the ideal way to start a Zion trip. In a single morning or afternoon you'll cover the full length of the canyon, understand the landscape's big story, get oriented to the major viewpoints and trailheads, and leave with a local's sense of where to go and what to prioritize for the rest of your time in the park.

Should I buy my park entrance pass in advance?

Yes—Zion National Park requires its own entrance fee, which is not included in the tour price. Purchase it in advance at the park fee gate or kiosk, or bring an America the Beautiful annual pass if you have one. Buying in advance saves time on the day of the tour.

How far in advance should I book?

Early reservations are strongly advised. Summer dates fill 30–45 days in advance. Check your calendar and book early to secure your preferred date and start time.

Cancellation Policy

Full payment is due at the time of booking. Cancellations more than 3 days in advance will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours of trip start time are non-refundable. Weather conditions do not permit clients to cancel trips. If your Zion Adventures® guide determines conditions make the event unsafe, we will reschedule or make every effort to provide a comparable experience; if not possible, all purchases will be refunded in full.
