Description

Private Clear Kayak Eco-Tour Through the Winter Park Chain of Lakes

Skip the group and experience the Winter Park Chain of Lakes entirely on your terms. This fully private clear kayak eco-tour is designed exclusively for your group — no strangers, no shared schedule, and a guide who can focus entirely on you. Paddle through the scenic Venetian-style canals and across three of Winter Park's most beautiful lakes at your own pace, with the flexibility to linger where you love, ask all the questions you want, and make the experience truly your own.

Your dedicated guide leads the way through the narrow canals lined with Florida's finest tropical flora, pointing out local wildlife, sharing the history of the area, and directing you past the extravagant lakeside estates that make Winter Park one of Central Florida's most beautiful waterways. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a romantic outing, organizing a family adventure, or hosting a small group event, the private tour transforms a great experience into an exceptional one.

Private tours accommodate up to 10 guests and can be booked as a daytime, sunset, or glow-in-the-dark experience — choose the time of day that works best for your group.

FAQs

What makes the private tour different from a regular group tour?

On the private tour, the experience is exclusively yours — your group, your guide, and no one else on the water with you. Your guide can fully tailor the pace and experience to your group, spend more time answering questions, and focus on what matters most to you. It's ideal for special occasions, couples wanting a romantic paddle without other guests, families with young children who want more flexibility, and small group outings or celebrations.

How many people can join the private tour?

Private tours accommodate up to 10 guests (5 kayaks).

Can I choose the time of day for the private tour?

Yes — private tours are available as daytime, sunset, or glow-in-the-dark experiences. Select the time of day that best fits your group when booking. Check the booking calendar for available slots.

Can the route be customized on the private tour?

To an extent — the website notes that your group can "customize your tour route," and your guide will accommodate the pace and areas of interest for your group.

Is this a good option for a special occasion or celebration?

Absolutely. The private tour is particularly popular for anniversaries, birthdays, proposals, date nights, and family reunions. The exclusivity of the experience — your own guide, your own kayaks, your own schedule — makes it feel genuinely special.

Is the private tour a good fit for corporate team events or group outings?

Yes — up to 10 guests can join, and the intimate, guided experience makes for a great team bonding activity or group event.

Is parking available at Dinky Dock?

Dinky Dock Park is a public park with street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood. Parking is free. The launch point is directly at the dock in the park.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes — especially for private tours, which require dedicated guide availability. Book online through the reservation system well in advance to secure your preferred date and time.

What skill level is needed for the kayak tour?

None at all! These tours are designed for all skill levels. Your guide will provide basic paddling tips at the start to help you feel comfortable on the water. Some paddling may feel intermediate depending on wind and water conditions, but the pace is kept manageable for everyone in the group.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Swimming ability is not required, but all guests should feel comfortable being on the water. Life jackets are provided for every guest for an added level of safety.

Are the kayaks tandem or solo?

All kayaks are tandem (built for 2 paddlers). However, seats are removable, so if your group has an odd number, one kayak can be configured as a single. Note that the 250 lb (113 kg) per-person weight limit still applies when using a kayak solo.

Is wildlife sighting guaranteed?

While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, guides are trained to know the best spots to look. Past guests have spotted bald eagles, herons, turtles, fish, and other Florida wildlife along the route.

What items are prohibited on the tour?

The following are not permitted: disposable containers (cans, plastic bottles, glass, plastic foam, or paper), alcoholic beverages, oil-based liquids (including most sunscreens and lotions — please apply before arriving and allow to dry), tobacco products, and audio speakers.
