Description
Your Own Sailboat, Your Own Snorkel Spot, Your Own Maui Adventure!
Escape the crowds and experience Maui the way it was meant to be enjoyed—on your own private sailing charter. With space for just your group and an experienced local captain, this personalized adventure lets you explore West Maui's coastline at a relaxed pace, combining snorkeling, sailing, and spectacular island scenery into one unforgettable day on the water.
Your captain will choose a sheltered snorkeling location based on the day's ocean conditions, taking you to a reef where you can spend as much time in the water as you'd like. Snorkel among coral formations while searching for Hawaiian green sea turtles (Honu), tropical reef fish, octopus, moray eels, sea urchins, and other marine life that call West Maui's reefs home. There's no rushing back to the boat—the schedule is flexible, allowing you to truly enjoy the experience.
After snorkeling, rinse off with fresh pineapple and settle in for a relaxing sail along Maui's beautiful west coast. As the trade winds fill the sails, you'll cruise beneath the dramatic West Maui Mountains with panoramic views stretching toward Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, and, on clear days, Molokini Crater. If you'd like, you're even welcome to help trim the sails and learn a little about sailing from your captain. Whether you spend the afternoon snorkeling, sailing, or simply relaxing on deck with your favorite snacks and drinks, this private charter offers one of the most peaceful and personalized ways to experience Maui's coastline.

FAQs
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes — non-alcoholic beverages are included on every trip, and guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages and food to store in the onboard refrigerator.
What should I use for sunscreen, and why does it matter?
Standard sunscreens contain chemicals that can harm coral reefs. Reef-safe, non-nano mineral sunscreens (avoiding oxybenzone, octinoxate, and parabens) are recommended, or consider a long-sleeve rash guard as an alternative.
What marine life can I see while snorkeling?
The reefs along Maui's west coast are home to an incredible variety of marine life, and every snorkel offers something a little different. One of the biggest highlights is the chance to swim alongside Hawaiian green sea turtles (Honu), which are frequently seen gliding over the reef or resting near coral and lava rock formations. The area is also home to colorful tropical fish such as yellow tang, butterflyfish, parrotfish, triggerfish, wrasses, and surgeonfish, creating a constantly changing underwater scene.
As you explore the reef, keep an eye out for moray eels tucked beneath ledges, octopus blending into the rocks, sea urchins, sea stars, and occasionally rays cruising across the sandy bottom. During the winter months, North Pacific humpback whales often migrate through the nearby waters, and while they aren't seen while snorkeling, they may be spotted from the boat during your sail. Every outing is unique, making each snorkel a new opportunity to discover Maui's incredible marine ecosystem.
Why should I book a private charter?
A private charter offers a completely different experience from a larger shared boat tour. Instead of following a fixed schedule with dozens of other guests, the entire trip is designed around your group. You can snorkel at your own pace, spend as much time in the water as you'd like, relax on deck without feeling rushed, and enjoy a quieter, more personal experience on the ocean.
Another advantage is the flexibility. Your captain selects the snorkel location based on the day's conditions, helping you find the clearest water and best snorkeling possible. Whether your group wants to spend more time snorkeling, enjoy a leisurely sail, learn a little about sailing, or simply relax while taking in Maui's coastline, the experience can naturally adapt to your interests.
Private charters are especially popular for families, couples, honeymooners, photographers, small groups of friends, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Having the boat to yourselves creates a more intimate atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy Maui's spectacular coastline without crowds while making memories together at your own pace.
