Description

Zion Rock Climbing & Slot Canyon Guided Adventure – Private Tour

You're in Zion for a limited time, and the list of things you want to do is longer than the days you have. The Rock & Canyon Guided Tour solves that problem. In a single full day, you'll descend a slot canyon and go rock climbing—two of the defining activities of the Southern Utah backcountry, back to back, with one guide leading you through both.

The day starts in the canyon. A half-day slot canyon descent takes you through a hike to the top, an introduction to canyoneering gear, rappels, downclimbing, and the experience of squeezing and scrambling through narrow sandstone corridors shaped by millennia of water. After a well-earned break for food, you move to the climbing area—where your guide introduces you to the ropes, teaches you to belay, and gets you on the wall. Rock climbing in this landscape means real desert sandstone, genuine vertical movement, and views that have no equivalent.

Neither experience requires prior skill. Guides provide full instruction for both—this is a genuinely beginner-accessible full day. That said, doing two activities in one day does require some mental and physical stamina. If you'd prefer to pace things out, the Slot Canyon Tour and Rock Climbing tours can be booked on separate days instead. But for those who want to fit it all in, this is the most efficient and memorable way to do it.

This tour is great for individuals, small groups, and families—and at ages 5+, it's one of the most accessible options for groups with younger participants.

FAQs

Do I need previous canyoneering or rock-climbing experience?

No prior experience is needed for either. Your guide provides full instruction in both disciplines throughout the day. This is one of the most accessible multi-activity tours available—genuinely suitable for first-timers of all ages.

Is this tour suitable for kids?

Yes — the minimum age is 5, and guides adapt the day to suit the group. This is one of the best family-friendly options for those who want to go beyond hiking and experience the technical side of the landscape together.

What's the pace of the day?

The guide plans the schedule based on group ability, age, and conditions. The day is designed to be flexible — if the group needs more time on one activity, the guide adjusts. The goal is that everyone leaves having done both, at a pace that felt good.

What skills will I learn?

Over the course of the day, guides cover knot tying, rappel technique, anchor systems, belay systems, climbing safety protocol, and use of climbing equipment — a solid foundational introduction to both disciplines.

Is this tour private?

Yes. The Rock & Canyon tour is private, meaning your group won't be combined with other parties.
