Description

Private Savannah Outback Adventure - Boat Cruise + Kayak Experience

This 4-hour adventure combines an eco-boat cruise to our private Page Island with a kayak tour of the pristine marshes on the back side of Daufuskie – a place few people get to see.
The Outback adventure begins with a scenic boat cruise through the Savannah River and into the Carolina Lowcountry salt marshes. Along the way, your naturalist captain will stop to view and discuss historic sites, dolphins, and other wildlife. Your destination is Page Island, a remote location, only accessible by boat, and often compared to a set of The Survivor Show.
Page Island is part of a remote chain of islands tucked between Daufuskie Island, Savannah, and Palmetto Bluff. When you arrive, the common reaction is to be simply awestruck by the beauty. Nestled into the Carolina salt marsh the destination offers individuals and groups the opportunity to unplug from the real world and truly immerse in the beauty of nature that surrounds us.
After arriving at Page Island, the perfect outpost to begin our kayak tour, we'll hop into kayaks and begin with a brief introduction to kayaking. The paddle will venture up a calm water creek with beautiful views and abundant wildlife. It's perfect for beginners and families of all ages - no experience required!

FAQs

How many people can you accommodate on this private tour?

This trip is available in private programs of up to 6 or 12 passengers.

What if the weather is bad?

If the weather will make a program unsafe or non-enjoyable (heavy rain, high winds, lightning, etc.), our team will make the decision to reschedule the tour. Please note: the weather in Coastal Georgia changes often, thus we make the decision about inclement weather ONE-HOUR prior to the scheduled departure time. If inclement weather causes your trip to cancel, our team will call you to reschedule or cancel and issue a refund.

How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?

Our programs have limited availability. We recommend booking your adventures as soon as you are certain of the dates you are interested in. Reservations are accepted up to 12 months in advance.

Will I see dolphins?

Yes! It is common to spot the Atlantic bottle-nosed dolphins in the Savannah River. It is possible to see dolphins and other wildlife on any of the excursions along the historic Savannah River. Wildlife may vary depending on the weather conditions and time of year!

What is the best time of day to go out on the water?

There are benefits to going out at any time of day! Whether it’s the history you’ll learn, or the wildlife you see, there’s not a time of day that is not ideal to be on the water. Wild Atlantic bottlenose dolphin are active in our local waters throughout the day, regardless of time or tide.

Do I need previous experience?

Kayaking ion the Savannah River is just like a relaxing nature “hike” on the water. The kayaks are big, stable, and safe. No experience is necessary to enjoy this adventure. We begin all of our kayak tours with a paddling clinic before heading out on the water.

Cancellation Policy

We accept cancellations up to 48 hours in advance of the scheduled time of your tour or program. Any cancellation made after that time will result in a charge for the full amount of the reservation.
