Description

Half-Day Private Cross Country Ski Tour or Lesson in New Hampshire

Discover New Hampshire’s winter trails on a private half-day cross-country skiing adventure tailored just for your group. Whether you’re gliding along groomed tracks with skinny skis or exploring untracked backcountry terrain on wider skis, your guide will choose the best location statewide based on snow and weather conditions.

Perfect for families, beginners, or anyone who wants a shorter outing, these private trips balance skill-building with fun exploration. Along the way, you’ll practice classic skiing techniques, learn how to navigate winter terrain, and take in the quiet beauty of the White Mountains or Great North Woods. Expect crisp air, snowy forests, and maybe even signs of wildlife crossing your path.

Because every outing is private, your guide adjusts the pace and challenge to your group’s interests and comfort level. Want a mellow scenic glide? We’ll stick to gentle loops with time for photos and hot cocoa breaks. Ready to push your skills a little further? We’ll find rolling terrain to practice climbs, descents, and turns.

FAQs

What if the weather is bad?

We go rain or shine, so please bring everything on the pack list given to you, or rent from us. If the weather, trail, or water conditions are such that they would not be conducive to safety, fun, and learning for the chosen activity (Plan A), we have Plans B-Z.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Our private tours can include your dog, and we’ll guide you in dog-approved wilderness areas of New Hampshire. Dogs must remain under control at all times—either on a leash (6 ft. or less) or under reliable voice command—and should never chase wildlife. Owners are responsible for their dog’s food, water, and any gear such as a backpack or life jacket. To protect both your pet and the environment, please follow Leave No Trace principles, including properly disposing of waste and respecting other hikers.

How challenging are the trips?

Difficulty depends on the route and season, but tours are always customized to your group’s comfort level. Whether you’re new to the outdoors or an experienced adventurer, your guide will adjust the pace and terrain to make it fun and enjoyable.

Do I need prior cross country ski experience?

No prior experience is required. Our guides provide instruction, safety tips, and encouragement along the way, so beginners and first-timers feel comfortable outdoors.

What kind of wildlife might we see?

Depending on the season and location, you might spot moose, deer, snowshoe hares, or winter birds like chickadees and woodpeckers. Your guide will also point out tracks and signs of animals you may not see directly.
