Short on time but ready to catch a wave? This one-hour private lesson packs in focused, one-on-one instruction at Wrightsville Beach — roughly 15 minutes of land instruction to get you dialed in, followed by about 45 minutes in the water, adjusted to how you're progressing.
This is a true private lesson, not an open group class — book it just for yourself, or bring along a group of friends or family to learn together. All surf equipment is included, and availability is limited, so it's worth booking ahead.

Location / Where to Meet
- 650 South Lumina Ave, Wrightsville Beach, NC — also known as Beach Access #36 or Crystal Pier
- A map link and directions are included in your booking confirmation email
- After parking, walk up the Beach Access #36 entrance sidewalk/footpath and meet your instructor on the beach on the north side of the pier (the left side if facing the ocean)
- Your instructor will be wearing a Sean's Private Surf Instruction t-shirt with a surfboard in hand

Are your instructors certified?
Yes — all instructors are CPR and First Aid certified, and are experienced local surfers familiar with the Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington, NC surf breaks.
Do I need previous surfing experience?
No previous experience is required. Instruction is available for all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced surfers looking to refine their skills.
Do you offer lessons year-round?
Yes, private lessons are offered seven days a week, year-round, with exact lesson times set based on tide conditions.
Can I book this lesson for a group?
Yes — this is a private lesson, not an open group class, so you can book it just for yourself or bring along a group to learn together.
How much of the hour is spent on land versus in the water?
Roughly 15 minutes of land instruction, followed by about 45 minutes in the water, adjusted based on how you're progressing.
Where do I park, and how much does it cost?
On summer weekdays, arrive 10–15 minutes early to find parking; on summer weekends, arrive about 30 minutes early. Parking runs roughly $5.00–$6.50/hour during warm months, depending on where you park, and is free in winter. Check the Town of Wrightsville Beach's parking information if you have questions.
Can I bring my own surfboard?
Yes — a surfboard is provided, but you're welcome to bring your own for your instructor to teach you on.
Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION POLICY
Full refunds will be issued for surf lesson cancellations with at least 48 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will not be refunded, payments will be kept as a credit which can be used any time within the calendar year. No shows will not be refunded. Canceling less than 30 minutes before lesson start time is considered a ‘no show’. Full refund will be issued in case of operator cancellation due to foul weather and/or poor surf conditions. OUR OFFICE HOURS are Monday-Friday 7:30am-5pm, Saturday 9am-2pm, and Sunday CLOSED.
