Description

Port Orford Sea Kayaking Tour - Wildlife Viewing Oregon Coast

Paddle through the protected waters off Port Orford for a scenic and wildlife-rich adventure along the Southern Oregon Coast. This 2.25-hour, 4-mile tour explores a stunning stretch of coastline framed by dramatic headlands and managed by Oregon State Parks. You'll navigate through kelp beds, past hidden coves and the striking Aquarium Arch, with views of Humbug Mountain to the south and the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve offshore.
Keep an eye out for thriving seabird colonies including Cormorants, Black Oystercatchers, Common Murres, and Pigeon Guillemots. Harbor seals are often seen hauled out on nearby rocks, and during the late winter through fall, Gray Whales are frequently spotted passing through or lingering in the cove. In late spring and summer, we also sample seasonal seaweeds during the paddle.
You'll launch near the working fishing port of Port Orford and wear a wetsuit for comfort and warmth on the water. This tour is ideal for nature lovers and paddlers looking to experience the wild beauty of Oregon's coastal ecosystems up close.
