Description

Private Guided Phil's World Mountain Biking in Durango with Lunch

If you want Phil’s World entirely on your terms—pace, mileage, photo stops, endless Rib Cage laps—this private tour is the ticket. Just 45 minutes west of Durango, Phil's World trail network is home to some of the most playful single‑track in the Southwest—highlighted by The Rib Cage, a swooping roller‑coaster of berms and rollers that riders can’t help but lap again and again.  Your guide crafts the day around your crew’s skills and ambitions: sessioning signature features, stretching into the outer loops, or dialing in technical skills on rocky desert lines. With no other riders to coordinate, you decide how hard (or how playful) the ride feels.
We’ll shuttle from Durango with bikes and helmets already dialed, arriving at the trailhead after a scenic 45‑minute drive. At roughly 6,400 ft, the terrain offers big fun without the lung‑busting altitude of Durango’s high peaks—ideal for a memorable ride early in your trip.
Lunch is a trailside picnic of organic sandwiches from Durango Natural Foods Co‑op, plus a stash of energy‑boosting snacks you can slip into your pack. Your guide—an experienced rider and WFR‑certified medic—handles mechanicals, route‑finding, and epic photo angles, leaving you free to chase flow, test your limits, and soak in the desert vistas.
Whether you’re a tight‑knit squad of shredders or a couple of experienced riders wanting maximum flexibility, our private Phil’s World adventure delivers a full day of personalized, world‑class singletrack—and memories that last long after the dust settles.

Location / Where to Meet

We'll provide transportation to and from your lodging (within 5 miles of Durango’s city center). If you are staying farther outside of town, we will establish a spot to meet and transport you from there, or we can meet at 2nd Ave Sports (640 E 2nd Ave, Durango, CO 81301), where we our rent bikes from.
As this is a group tour, please recognize your guide will be making multiple stops to pick up and drop off other guests. Please be on time with your set pick-up time to avoid delaying the entire tour.
Due to the extended travel necessary for this tour, there is an additional $100 fee for the booking group.

Ages & Requirements

Most of these trails cater to intermediate to advanced riders, so please only book this tour if you have a fair amount of mountain biking experience.
While little shredders are welcome, please consider your child's ability level before booking. That said, this private tour is perfect for families or any party that requires a slower pace, as the tour can be adjusted to suit your family's pace and needs. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
