Buckskin Gulch Day Hike

Description
Buckskin Gulch Slot Canyon Day Hike, Page AZ
Explore the World's Longest Slot Canyon
Buckskin Gulch is the longest slot canyon in the world, slicing through stunning Navajo sandstone in southern Utah near the Arizona border. Unlike crowded slot canyon tours at Zion or Antelope Canyon, this guided day hike offers an intimate, private adventure deep in a remote canyon that most visitors never reach.
Your guide drops you into the very heart of this geological labyrinth, where you'll explore the lower and deeper sections at a leisurely pace — often with the canyon entirely to yourselves. Ancient petroglyphs etched by Ancestral Puebloans, sculpted sandstone walls, and a sky reduced to a narrow slit overhead make this one of the most dramatic hiking experiences in the American Southwest.
The first hour of the hike unfolds across open terrain with sweeping panoramic views of the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. Then you reach the canyon lip and make the steep descent into the cool, shadowy world below. Lunch is included, and the pace and distance are entirely up to your group.
Duration of Adventure
5 to 10 hours depending on how far you choose to explore the canyon. The hiking pace and distance are completely up to your group. Plan to be back in Page by approximately 6:00 PM.
Location / Where to Meet
Your guide will pick you up at 7:00 AM in Page, AZ at your hotel or accommodation.
If you are staying in Kanab, UT, meet at the Paria Contact Station at 9:00 AM MDT (during daylight saving time) or 8:00 AM MST (outside of daylight saving time).
