What is Paddles & Pints?

Paddles & Pints is a fun, self-guided social paddle and lakeside happy hour experience for ages 21+. Enjoy a relaxed 2-hour paddle, meet fellow adventurers, and wrap up your evening with a complimentary drink, giveaway entry, and great community vibes.

Is Paddles & Pints a guided tour?

No—this is not a guided tour. Paddles & Pints is a rental-based community event where you paddle at your own pace. Rocky Mountain Paddleboard staff provide equipment, safety support, and event coordination, but you’re free to explore, socialize, and enjoy the lake independently.

Do I need paddleboarding or kayaking experience?

Not at all! Paddles & Pints is beginner-friendly and welcoming to all experience levels. Staff provide a safety briefing and paddle instruction before launch, making it easy for first-time paddlers to join the fun.

Can I bring my own paddleboard or kayak?

Yes! If you already have your own board, you can still join the event for a reduced entry fee while enjoying all the social perks, including your complimentary drink, giveaway entry, and lakeside festivities.

Are alcoholic drinks included?

Yes—each participant receives one complimentary drink as part of the event. Additional beverages may be available for purchase depending on the venue. Valid ID is required.

Do I need to reserve in advance?

Yes, we highly recommend reserving in advance to ensure availability. Event capacity is limited to 75 guests.

Do I need to pay a park entry fee at Boulder Reservoir?

Yes, Boulder Reservoir requires an entry fee. It's typically between $12-$30 depending on the number of people in your vehicle. For current fees, see Boulder Reservoir's website here.

What if the weather is bad?

We totally get that weather can be unpredictable! If the conditions aren’t great, we’re happy to reschedule or hook you up with a raincheck to use anytime. Just a heads-up—park entrance fees might not be refundable, so keep an eye on your email for updates.

What kind of weather would cause a cancellation?

Safety is our top priority! A couple of quick rules: If there’s lightning nearby (or on the way) or if winds hit 15+ MPH, it’s a no-go.

Since Colorado’s weather changes fast, we do 30-minute weather holds and reassess after that. We’ll always keep you in the loop!

Cancellation Policy

72 hours’ notice to receive a full refund for all events.
In the case of inclement weather, we will issue a digital gift card for the full amount of your purchase. These gift cards expire two seasons after issuance and are valid at any RMP location.
Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds for no-call/no-show reservations.
Reservations not claimed 30 minutes after the scheduled start time will be considered forfeited.
