Description
Paddle Board Rental in Crested Butte, CO
Explore Crested Butte's alpine lakes and the Slate River on a premium inflatable stand-up paddleboard. Free delivery is included with every rental — your board shows up ready to go at your door, so there's no hauling gear across town before you even get started.
Most boards are single-rider, but they're sturdy enough to hold two smaller riders too, which makes them a good fit for a parent paddling with a kid. Everything you need comes with the board, from the paddle down to the straps for securing it to your car.
Popular destinations include Lake Irwin, the closest alpine lake to town, along with Lost Lake and Emerald Lake for calmer, family-friendly paddling, or the Slate River for a gentle float through the valley. Wherever you go, you'll have Crested Butte's peaks in view the whole time.

FAQs
Do I need to book in advance?
Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially on weekends and during peak summer months, to guarantee availability.
Do you deliver?
Yes, free delivery is included to your Crested Butte accommodation and to the Slate River put-in. Delivery to alpine lakes isn't permitted due to Gunnison National Forest regulations, so you'll transport the board yourself using the straps provided.
Is paddleboarding beginner-friendly?
Yes, the boards are designed to be stable and approachable for first-timers, and your rental team provides equipment instruction before you head out.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome on the boards. Trim your dog's nails beforehand to avoid damaging the board, and consider adding a dog PFD for safety.
Where do you recommend paddling?
Lake Irwin is the closest alpine lake to town and a favorite for its clear water and mountain backdrop. Lost Lake and Emerald Lake are calmer, family-friendly options. The Slate River offers a gentle, scenic float — check current water flow before planning a river trip, as low flow can occasionally make it unfloatable.
Can two people share a board?
The boards are primarily single-rider, but they're stable enough for two smaller riders, like a parent and a kid.
Can I use this on the Slate River?
Yes, the boards work well for the Slate River float, and delivery is available directly to the put-in on Pyramid Avenue.
