Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Because Live Free Diving is committed to providing high-quality courses with small instructor-to-student ratios, we are unable to issue refunds for cancellations.

All courses are non-refundable under any circumstances. However, we understand that plans can change, so we offer the following rescheduling options, subject to availability.

Course Rescheduling

• 14+ days before your scheduled course: Reservations may be rescheduled at no charge when requested at least 14 days before the scheduled start of the course.

• Less than 14 days’ notice: Students may reschedule for a $150 rebooking fee, subject to availability. This fee applies each time the course is rescheduled.

• Within 48 hours of the scheduled start time: Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled start time will be charged the full remaining balance of the course due to the loss of business and limited ability to fill the reservation.

• No-shows: No-shows will be charged the full price of the activity, tour, or training. No refunds or credits will be given.

• A minimum 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due by the start of the course and will be automatically charged to the card on file.

Medical Clearance

If you require MEDICAL CLEARANCE and do not obtain the required physician’s approval before the start of the course, you will not be permitted to participate in the pool or open-water portions of the course.

A $150 rescheduling fee will apply, and training must be rescheduled based on instructor and course availability once the required medical documentation has been provided.

Please do not wait until the last minute to determine whether you require medical clearance.

2027 Freediver Course Structure

The 2027 (Basic) Freediver course consists of:

Day 1: Classroom & Pool
Day 2: Open Water Session 1 at Blue Heron Bridge, tide dependent

Blue Heron Bridge provides an excellent environment for your first open-water training session and can satisfy the requirements for the Basic Freediver certification, provided all performance requirements are met.

However, Blue Heron Bridge does not provide the depth required for the full Freediver certification.

To complete the full Freediver certification, students must complete Open Water Session 2 at a minimum depth of 10 meters. This session is conducted from our boat when conditions permit and requires an additional $150 boat fee.

Planning for Open Water Session 2

When booking your course, you will have the opportunity to indicate whether you plan to continue to the boat session for the full Freediver certification. This helps us plan instructor availability and boat capacity.

This is not a commitment. You can make your final decision after Open Water Session 1 based on your comfort level, performance, and readiness for the boat session.

If you decide after Session 1 that you are ready to continue, you may sign up for the next available boat session. Boat sessions are subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee a specific date or time.

For students traveling from out of town, we recommend planning for the following Monday boat session when possible so you can have the opportunity to complete your full certification during the same trip.

Students who are local, or who prefer to return at a later date, may schedule Open Water Session 2 on another available training day.

Completing the Course

After Open Water Session 1, students who meet all required performance standards have several options:

• Continue to the full Freediver certification by completing Open Water Session 2 at the required minimum depth of 10 meters.
• Complete the Basic Freediver certification if all Basic Freediver performance requirements have been successfully met.
• If you are unable to complete the full certification with us, we can provide a referral form so you can complete the remaining requirements with another qualified instructor or dive center.

Your instructor will discuss your options with you based on your performance, comfort level, and readiness.

Open Water & Weather Policy

Open-water training is weather and sea-condition dependent. Final decisions regarding boat operations are made by the captain and/or instructor based on safety and current conditions.

Weather and sea conditions may require us to modify, postpone, or relocate a session. These decisions may be made shortly before the scheduled session because offshore conditions can change quickly.

Open Water Session 1 at Blue Heron Bridge is tide dependent, and the meeting time may vary based on the tide and conditions.

Open Water Session 2 requires a minimum depth of 10 meters and is conducted from our boat when conditions allow. If offshore conditions are not suitable, the session may be postponed or rescheduled based on availability.

Open Water Session Rescheduling

Once you begin your course, each open-water session is considered part of your training and is subject to instructor and schedule availability.

If you are unable to complete an open-water session due to seasickness, inability to complete required skills, or needing additional training, your instructor may require an additional session before certification can be completed.

Additional training sessions will be scheduled based on availability. If the additional session is conducted from the boat, the applicable $150 boat fee will apply.

Due to our limited class capacity, we do not offer refunds or credits for partial course completion.

Private Courses

Private session cancellations or rescheduling require at least 14 days’ notice.

Changes made with less than 14 days’ notice are subject to a $250 rebooking fee due to the potential loss of business.

The full balance for private courses is due 7 days prior to the scheduled course.

Cancellations or rescheduling made within 7 days of the scheduled course will be charged the full course price.

Rental Gear

If renting gear, customers agree to reimburse Live Free Diving for the loss or damage of any equipment at its current replacement value.

We are a small team specializing in intimate group experiences. In order to keep our operations sustainable and provide the highest quality training, we must adhere to this cancellation and rescheduling policy.
