Description

24-Hour Coeur d'Alene E-Bike Rental — Explore the Centennial Trail & Beyond

Not all great rides fit into a single afternoon. The 24-hour rental gives you the freedom to explore Coeur d'Alene at your own pace — start the evening, ride into a sunrise, or take a sunset cruise along Lake Coeur d'Alene without watching the clock. Whether you're a visitor who wants the trail available the moment you wake up, or someone who simply wants to make a full two-day experience of the Centennial Trail, this overnight option is built for you.

The North Idaho Centennial Trail runs 23 miles (37 km) from the Idaho–Washington border to Higgins Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene, and the shop's Riverstone location puts you directly on the path at both pickup times. Choose a 10:00 AM pickup for a full day of riding before returning the following morning, or a 4:00 PM pickup to catch the trail in the late afternoon and evening light — and set out again the next morning.

FAQs

How does the 24-hour rental work?

Choose a pickup time of 10:00 AM or 4:00 PM when booking. Your bike is ready at the shop at that time, and must be returned at the same time the following day. For example, a 4:00 PM pickup means a 4:00 PM return the next day.

Where should I keep the bike overnight?

The bike includes a lock — secure it at your accommodation using the included lock. If your lodging has secure indoor storage or a bike room, even better. Contact the shop if you have questions about overnight storage arrangements.

What pickup time should I choose — 10:00 AM or 4:00 PM?

A 10:00 AM pickup gives you a full day of riding before returning the following morning — ideal if you want maximum daylight and the option for a longer first-day ride. A 4:00 PM pickup is perfect for catching the trail in the golden-hour evening light, a sunset along the lake, and then heading out again the next morning before your 4:00 PM return.

Where can I ride over 24 hours?

With a full day and more at your disposal, the entire Centennial Trail is yours. A popular approach is to ride east to Higgins Point on Day 1 for the lake views, spend the morning of Day 2 heading west along the Spokane River toward Post Falls, and return to Riverstone with time to spare. Some riders also explore the Coeur d'Alene lakefront, McEuen Park, and the waterfront area around the resort across both sessions.

What is a Pedego electric bike and how does it work?

Pedego electric bikes use a pedal-assist system — as you pedal, the motor kicks in to amplify your effort. You can dial the assist level up or down depending on how much of a workout you want. Most Pedego models also have a throttle, which propels the bike forward without pedaling — useful for starting from a stop or cruising on a flat stretch. The motor doesn't do all the work; you still pedal, but hills feel manageable and headwinds disappear.

How far can I go on a single charge?

Most Pedego bikes are rated for 20–60 miles (32–97 km) per charge depending on the model, terrain, rider weight, and assist level used. The Centennial Trail is mostly flat and paved, making it easy on battery — riders regularly reach Higgins Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene (about 7–8 miles / 11–13 km east of Riverstone) and return without concern. Staff can advise on range based on the route and bike model you choose.

Do I need experience riding a bicycle to rent an e-bike?

You should be comfortable riding a standard bicycle before renting an e-bike. The pedal-assist adds speed and power, which makes basic bike-handling skills important. Staff will walk you through the controls and give you time to practice before you head out.

Are helmets required?

Yes — helmets are included with every rental and are required to be worn while riding.

Do I need to be a strong cyclist?

Not at all. The pedal-assist motor levels the playing field — no prior fitness is needed to ride comfortably. The Centennial Trail is predominantly flat and paved, making it genuinely accessible for all abilities.

Do you have bikes for families or riders of different sizes?

Yes — the fleet includes multiple frame sizes and styles to fit a wide range of riders, including step-thru models for easier mounting and a tandem for two riders.

What is the weather policy?

Rentals go forward rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, contact the shop directly to discuss your options.

What happens if I get a flat tire or the bike has a mechanical issue?

Contact the shop directly if you experience a mechanical issue during your rental. Keep bikes locked when stopped and never leave them unattended — guests are responsible for the bikes during the rental period.

Can I bring my camera or phone?

Absolutely. The Centennial Trail offers stunning views of the Spokane River, lakefront, and surrounding mountains. The shop is not responsible for lost or damaged belongings.

Is parking available at the shop?

Yes — free parking is available throughout Riverstone Village, with a covered parking garage also available.

Do I need to book in advance?

Booking in advance is recommended, especially on weekends and during peak season (June through September). The shop is open Monday and Thursday through Sunday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM; closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

What time does the shop open and close?

Monday and Thursday through Sunday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. All bikes must be returned by 5:00 PM unless on a 24-hour rental.

Is the North Idaho Centennial Trail paved?

Yes — the Centennial Trail is predominantly paved with asphalt or concrete. There are a small number of sections where the trail runs alongside roads rather than fully separated; your guide will walk you through what to expect before you head out.

Are e-bikes allowed on the North Idaho Centennial Trail?

Yes — Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are permitted on the Centennial Trail. Idaho state law treats Class 1 and 2 e-bikes the same as regular bicycles on paved multi-use paths.

Is there free parking at the shop?

Yes — free parking is available throughout Riverstone Village, with a covered parking garage also available for longer stays.
