Kendall Mountain Nordic Ski Rental Package
No chairlift required — this is cross-country skiing at its simplest, gliding along groomed, rolling trails that loop right through town instead of climbing a mountain. Rent a set of Nordic gear and head out onto the Silverton Town Loop or the trails winding through the Kendall Mountain Recreation Area, with San Juan peaks framing the whole route.
It's a quiet, low-impact way to spend a morning or afternoon outside, well suited to a slower pace than downhill skiing — steady, rhythmic, and easy to pick up for a first-timer, with plenty of flat, groomed track to settle into a stride before tackling any rolling terrain.

- Rentals are available Friday through Sunday 11AM-4PM
Location / Where to Meet
- Nordic equipment is rented on-site at the base lodge (Kendall Mountain Community Center) in Silverton, Colorado, at the end of 14th Street — about four blocks from downtown
- Rentals are used on the Town of Silverton's free, sled-groomed Nordic trails, including the roughly 2.5-mile Town Loop circling Silverton, the Kendall Mountain Recreation Area, and Memorial Park

- No lift ticket or trail pass is required; the Nordic trails are free and open to the public

Do I need to reserve in advance?
Reserving online ahead of time is recommended. Because this is a small, community-run ski area, rental inventory and sizes are limited, so booking early helps guarantee your gear is available.
Do I need a lift ticket to use the nordic trails at Kendall Mountain?
No. The Town of Silverton's Nordic trails are free and open to the public, separate from the downhill ski area's lift-served terrain.
Where can I ski with the rental gear?
The Town Loop (about 2.5 miles, circling Silverton), the Kendall Mountain Recreation Area, and Memorial Park all have groomed, non-motorized Nordic trails.
Cancellation Policy
- Customers will receive a full refund or credit if cancellations are made, a minimum of 48 hours, in advance of your reservation date.
- Customers will also receive a full refund or credit if lift operations are halted by the operators due to unforeseen circumstances.
- No-shows will be charged the full price of their Tickets.
