Description

Kendall Mountain Night Lift Ticket - Silverton, CO

Skiing under lights has a different rhythm than a regular day on the hill — quieter, cooler, with the chairlift rising into darkness and the runs lit up below. This ticket is for select evening sessions on the mountain's single chairlift, a low-key way to experience the hill after the sun goes down, whether that's a few relaxed laps after work or a special-event night with a crowd of locals.

Set at the edge of Silverton with the San Juan Mountains as a backdrop, a night session here trades the daytime bustle for something stiller — a small-town ski hill lit up against a mountain sky. The compact, uncrowded layout that makes this hill such a good learning spot by day carries over after dark too, giving families and newer skiers a calm, low-pressure setting for evening laps.

Duration

  1. 3 hours - 6:00 - 9:00 PM
  2. Available during select night ski events during the season (check availability for specific dates)

Location / Where to Meet

  1. Kendall Mountain Ski Area, at the end of 14th Street in Silverton, Colorado — about four blocks from downtown
  2. The ticket window and Lift Shack (rentals, concessions) are located at the base area

Ages & Requirements

  1. Night tickets are priced by age tier (adult, senior/teen/military/child); children 5 and under ski free but still require a physical ticket for waiver purposes under the Colorado Skier Safety Act
  2. This is a beginner-friendly, low-intensity hill, and the smaller, uncrowded setup compared to larger Colorado ski areas makes it a comfortable learning environment, though guests should be comfortable skiing or riding in lower-light evening conditions

What's Included

  1. Chairlift access during the scheduled night ski event
  2. Access to lit terrain for the duration of the session

Not Included

  1. Ski or snowboard rentals — see rentals here

  3. Food and beverage

What to Bring / Wear

  3. A neck gaiter or face covering for cold night air
  4. Clear or low-light goggles suited to skiing after dark
  5. Warm socks suited to ski or snowboard boots

FAQs

Does Kendall Mountain make snow?

No. The mountain relies entirely on natural snowfall, so it typically opens later in December once a solid base has built up, and conditions can shift through the season depending on recent weather.

Is there a daily capacity limit?

Yes. Because it's a small hill, daily visitor numbers are capped, so purchasing ahead of your visit is strongly encouraged to secure a spot.

Is there food available at the base?

There's no on-mountain restaurant, but downtown Silverton is just a few blocks away with several casual, highly rated spots to eat after skiing.

Can I rent ski or snowboard gear at Kendall Mountain?

Yes, ski and snowboard rentals are available - we recommend renting online in advance to ensure availability.

Is night skiing available every week?

No — night skiing is offered during select events during the season rather than on a regular nightly schedule. Confirm the current event calendar at checkout.
