Night Hike & S'mores – Beginner-Friendly

Description
Night Hike n' S'mores 1.0 - Private Night Hike & S'mores – Beginner-Friendly
Every night hike is different. Some nights the moon lights the trail almost like daylight; other nights it's dark enough that your eyes need real time to adjust, and the forest around you turns into something new and a little mysterious. Either way, walking after dark is a completely different experience from hiking the same trail in daylight — quieter, slower, and full of small details you'd otherwise miss.
Your guide leads the way, helping the group build night vision as you go, sharing stories along the trail, and pointing out constellations and the Milky Way when the sky cooperates. The hike wraps up around a camp stove with hot cocoa and s'mores — a warm, easy way to end an evening spent in the dark.

FAQs
What is this hike about?
This is a guided evening hike focused on experiencing the trail after dark — building night vision, hearing stories along the way, and looking for constellations and the Milky Way when the sky is clear. It wraps up with hot cocoa and s'mores over a camp stove.
Is a headlamp provided?
Yes, a headlamp is included for the hike. Guests are also welcome to bring their own with charged batteries as a backup.
Will we actually see the Milky Way or constellations?
Visibility depends on the moon phase and cloud cover on a given night, so it varies. Your guide shares knowledge of the night sky and points out what's visible whenever conditions allow.
Is this hike appropriate for kids in the dark?
Yes — this is rated a beginner-friendly hike for ages 10 and up, paced for families, with your guide helping the group build night vision gradually as you go.
Are s'mores really included?
Yes — hot cocoa and s'mores prepared over a camp stove are part of the trip, typically at the end of the hike.
What can I expect to see and do on a guided hike?
Beyond the hiking itself, your guide shares knowledge of the local history, geology, flowers, and trees, and keeps an eye out for wildlife along the way. If animals are spotted while driving and it's safe to stop, your guide will pull over so the group can observe from a safe distance. Elk, mule deer, marmots, pikas, and bighorn sheep are commonly seen, with moose and other wildlife possible as well.
Are your guides certified?
Yes. Guides are professional, trained, and Wilderness First Aid/CPR-certified.
How big are the groups, and will I be with strangers?
Every trip is a private, custom trip booked exclusively for your party — you won't be combined with other travelers. Group sizes run from 1 to 9 people, based on Rocky Mountain National Park's group-size regulations for a single certified guide.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, advance booking is recommended, especially during the busy summer season, to ensure guide and date availability.
Do I need a park pass?
You'll need a valid park pass or to pay the park entrance fee, but since you're on a guided trip, a timed-entry permit is not required — your guide handles that reservation for your group. Credit or debit is required at the park entrance; cash is not accepted.
