Private Full Day Rock Climbing in Moab – Guided Climbing Adventure

Spend a full day immersed in the world-class climbing terrain of Moab, where towering sandstone walls, unique rock features, and expansive desert views create an unforgettable setting for adventure. This private full-day experience is designed to give you more time on the rock, more variety in climbing styles, and more personalized instruction from your guide.
Your day begins with a visit to a carefully selected climbing area based on your goals, experience level, and the day’s conditions. After a safety briefing and gear overview, you will ease into climbing with routes that build confidence and technique. As the day progresses, your guide will introduce new challenges, helping you refine movement, improve efficiency, and develop stronger climbing skills.
One of the highlights of a full-day trip is the opportunity to explore multiple climbing areas. Midday, you will transition to a second crag, offering a change in scenery and a new style of climbing. This could mean shifting from face climbing to crack climbing, or simply enjoying a different perspective of Moab’s striking desert landscape.
With ample time and a private setting, this experience is ideal for climbers who want to progress their skills, try a wider range of routes, or simply spend a full day enjoying the rhythm of climbing in a truly unique environment. Whether you are building on prior experience or diving deeper into the sport, this trip offers a rewarding and memorable day on the rock.

FAQs

Do I need prior rock climbing experience?

No experience is necessary. Many guests are trying outdoor climbing for the first time. Your guide will teach you everything you need to know, starting with the basics and building up from there at a pace that feels comfortable.

How many climbs will I get to do?

That depends on the length of your trip, group size, and how long you want to spend on each climb. Most guests get multiple climbs in, with time to rest and refine skills between attempts.

What if I am afraid of heights?

That is very common, and many people find this to be a great way to work through it. You are always on a rope system with a guide managing your safety. You can climb as high as you feel comfortable and take breaks whenever you need.

What kind of climbing will we do?

Moab offers a variety of climbing styles, including face climbing and crack climbing. Your guide will choose routes based on your experience and what you are interested in learning or trying.

What makes Moab climbing unique?

Moab’s sandstone creates a completely different experience compared to indoor gyms or other rock types. The texture, features, and surrounding desert scenery make it both visually stunning and technically interesting to climb.

Can I come along and watch my friends or family?

Yes, spectators are welcome. We just ask that they sign a waiver and wear a helmet while near the climbing area for safety.

How much instruction will I get?

As much as you want. Some guests prefer a more casual experience, while others want to dive into technique and skill-building. Because the trip is private, your guide can tailor the level of instruction to your goals.

Will we be in the sun or shade?

That depends on the season and time of day. Your guide will choose climbing areas that maximize comfort, whether that means seeking shade in the summer or sun in cooler months.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy

Groups of less than 10 people: All of your money will be refunded if you cancel prior to two weeks before your trip date. If you cancel within two weeks of your trip, but outside of 48 hours, you’ll be charged a $20/person deposit. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your trip will not be refunded.

Groups of 10 or more people: A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is non-refundable, unless our guides cancel due to weather. The remaining balance is due within 48 hours of the trip date.

Late Arrivals: Although our tours are private, and we will accommodate late arrivals as we can, occasionally a late arrival can cause tours later in the day and/or shuttle logistics to be affected. Because of this, we reserve the right to cancel your tour if you arrive more than 30 minutes after your scheduled reservation time. If a tour is canceled because of a late arrival, a refund will not be issued.

Weather: Full refunds are given if your guide cancels your trip due to bad weather. Our guides will make the final "go/no go" decision based on the safety of your group. If you decide to cancel because of uncomfortable weather, our standard cancellation policy will apply.

Travel Insurance: If you believe there is a chance that you will have to cancel your tour within the non-refundable 24-hour cancellation period, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance. We are not affiliated with any insurance companies, but can recommend www.travelexinsurance.com.
