Maui Waterfall Hike – Jungle Swimming & Cliff Jumping
Pricing
Description
Hike the Jungle, Chase Waterfalls & Take the Plunge!
Once you reach the falls, the adventure is yours to shape. Leap off a rock ledge into the pool below, grab the rope swing, swim right up to the base of the waterfall, or float on your back and soak in the sound of the water. Prefer to keep your feet dry? Find a rock, snack on fresh fruit, and enjoy the view while the rest of your crew takes the plunge.
Your guide carries a GoPro the entire way, capturing every jump, splash, and stream crossing, and hands you the memory card at the end so you leave with the whole adventure on camera. Along the trail, you'll hear stories about Hawaiian history and culture and learn about the plants and fruit you pass, making this as much a connection to the island as it is a morning (or afternoon) of play.

ADVENTURE PROVIDED BY Epic Maui Hikes
FAQs
What makes this jungle hike special?
This trail takes you deep into Maui's rainforest, through tall bamboo groves and past fruit trees and tropical flowers, to a series of waterfalls with pools for swimming. Unlike many waterfall tours, this one offers optional cliff jumping into the pools, along with a rope swing and plenty of time to float, swim, and explore.
How difficult is the hike?
The hike is 2 miles (3.2 km) round trip and is rated mild to moderate. It isn't strenuous, but it is a bit technical: the trail is uneven, can be muddy and slippery, especially after rain, and includes stream crossings where it's easiest to walk right through the water. Your guide sets the pace for your group.
Do I have to cliff jump?
Not at all. Cliff jumping and the rope swing are completely optional. You're welcome to swim, soak in the pools, or simply relax and enjoy the waterfalls from the rocks.
What shoes should I wear?
Running shoes, sport sandals with a heel strap, or water shoes all work well. This hike isn't flip-flop friendly, and there's a 100% chance your shoes will get muddy and wet, so wear a pair you don't mind getting dirty. Bring flip-flops to change into afterward.
Will I get wet?
Yes. Between stream crossings, waterfall pools, and Maui's frequent passing showers, plan on getting wet and muddy. Wear your swimsuit under your clothes and bring a towel.
Are there any insects or wildlife to be concerned about?
Mosquitoes are common in Maui's rainforest, so we provide eco-friendly mosquito repellent on every tour.
When is the best time to do this hike?
We offer morning and afternoon departures throughout the day. Maui's rainforest can see rain at any time of year, which makes the trail muddier but keeps the waterfalls flowing. If conditions become unsafe, we'll reschedule or offer an alternate option.
Is my tour private or shared?
Groups of four or more are automatically private, so only your group and your guide will be on the adventure. Smaller groups join a shared tour with up to 6 guests total, or can make the tour private by adding a privacy fee at checkout.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Yes. Our tours are priced per person with a two-person minimum per booking.
Can I choose my start time?
Private groups (four or more guests, or two or more guests with the privacy fee added) can request a custom start time. Shared tours run at the scheduled start times listed for each adventure.
What do you provide on every tour?
Every adventure comes stocked with water, snacks, eco-friendly mosquito repellent, and locally made, all-natural reef-safe sunscreen. Your guide also captures photos and video of your day on a GoPro. Our full-day adventures include lunch as well.
When will I receive my photos and videos?
As soon as your adventure ends. Your guide hands you the memory card and an adaptor so you can save, print, or post your photos right away. An edited adventure video with music and highlights can also be added at checkout for an extra fee.
Are your guides trained in safety and first aid?
Yes. Our guides are CPR-certified and carry first-aid kits on every tour. Your safety is our number one priority, and your guide tailors each outing to the interests and ability levels of your group.
Is it safe to leave valuables in the car?
Please leave valuables at your hotel. Vehicles on Maui are occasionally broken into, and backpacks, purses, and handbags are common targets. We're not responsible for any lost or stolen personal items you choose to bring.
What add-ons are available?
Popular add-ons include a picnic, a professional photographer, an edited adventure video with music and highlights, and a privacy fee for smaller groups who want a private tour. Each can be added at checkout for an extra fee.
How do you care for Maui's land and ocean?
Our mission is to share Hawaiian history and culture with every guest, along with our aloha and respect for the ʻāina (land). We provide locally made reef-safe sunscreen and eco-friendly bug spray on every tour to help protect Maui's oceans and streams.
