Find Your Wave, Build Your Skills & Surf Maui Like a Local!
Your session starts on the sand, walking through the technique you'll put to work in the water, then it's straight into the lineup with your instructor right beside you. You'll get hands-on coaching wave after wave, with tips on timing your paddle, picking the right wave, and finding your balance once you're up. Every lesson is personalized, so the feedback is about your surfing, not a one-size-fits-all class.
Between sets, soak up the island's surf culture and the views from the water, then refuel with snacks and juice on the beach.

- Minimum Age: Ages 4–80 welcome
- Minimum Group Size: A minimum of 2 guests per booking is required.
- No Experience Required: Beginners, intermediate, and advanced surfers are all welcome; instruction is matched to your skill level.
- Shared & Private Group Options: Bookings of 4 or more guests are automatically private. Smaller parties join a shared tour with a maximum of 6 guests total, unless a private tour upgrade is purchased at checkout.

Do I need previous surfing experience?
No. This lesson welcomes complete beginners as well as intermediate and advanced surfers. Your instructor tailors the session to your skill level, whether that means learning to stand up for the first time or refining your technique on bigger waves.
Where will we surf?
We meet at Ma'alaea Harbor, and your instructor chooses an uncrowded surf spot that matches your group's skill level and that day's ocean conditions. The goal is more waves and fewer people, so you spend your time surfing instead of waiting.
Is all the surf equipment provided?
Yes. Your surfboard, rash guard, and surf booties are all included, so you just need to bring your swimsuit and a towel.
Is instruction included?
Yes. Every session includes personalized instruction from your surf instructor, from the basics of paddling and popping up for beginners to wave selection and technique for more experienced surfers.
What should I wear for the surf lesson?
Wear your swimsuit. A rash guard and surf booties are provided. Bring a towel and a dry change of clothes for afterward.
Can my kids join the lesson?
Yes. Guests from age 4 and up are welcome, and your instructor adjusts the session to each surfer's comfort level.
Is my tour private or shared?
Groups of four or more are automatically private, so only your group and your guide will be on the adventure. Smaller groups join a shared tour with up to 6 guests total, or can make the tour private by adding a privacy fee at checkout.
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Yes. Our tours are priced per person with a two-person minimum per booking.
Can I choose my start time?
Private groups (four or more guests, or two or more guests with the privacy fee added) can request a custom start time. Shared tours run at the scheduled start times listed for each adventure.
What do you provide on every tour?
Every adventure comes stocked with water, snacks, eco-friendly mosquito repellent, and locally made, all-natural reef-safe sunscreen. Your guide also captures photos and video of your day on a GoPro. Our full-day adventures include lunch as well.
When will I receive my photos and videos?
As soon as your adventure ends. Your guide hands you the memory card and an adaptor so you can save, print, or post your photos right away. An edited adventure video with music and highlights can also be added at checkout for an extra fee.
Are your guides trained in safety and first aid?
Yes. Our guides are CPR-certified and carry first-aid kits on every tour. Your safety is our number one priority, and your guide tailors each outing to the interests and ability levels of your group.
Is it safe to leave valuables in the car?
Please leave valuables at your hotel. Vehicles on Maui are occasionally broken into, and backpacks, purses, and handbags are common targets. We're not responsible for any lost or stolen personal items you choose to bring.
What add-ons are available?
Popular add-ons include a picnic, a professional photographer, an edited adventure video with music and highlights, and a privacy fee for smaller groups who want a private tour. Each can be added at checkout for an extra fee.
